New jungle plants suck

They are completely unnecessary and I believe riot is overdoing it with these. The new krugs and raptors are whacky enough. What do y'all think?

I like the flavor they add.

to me the plants aren't neutral enough. they aren't something that everyone can benefit from and they aren't situational either, they're nothing to play around, and they dont make jungling more interesting.

like a ranged player now has to straddle the blue one to get vision just right to see over a wall.

a lee sin has no business hitting a red.

i guess health/mana is ok... but im tanky and didn't take damage... or if it was offered early game you just added 5 seconds onto my clear time without making it now doable that it was there, vs not there...

blue is easily the most valued and sought after, but its not good enough or prevalent enough to make a difference that wards could already do.

I think there will be a lot more strategy around them once people get used to them. I've already used the berries a few times to heal up while roaming from Top to Mid (they don't expect you to roam at half health [or it was just a Syndra who figured her R would kill me if I did], but then suddenly you show up at 3/4 and catch her surprised). They're also useful to heal up before starting Baron if you're low after the pre-fight.

The vision is also interesting. I aimed one towards top lane when I was stealing the enemy blue buff to make sure the enemy top laner couldn't collapse on me if the jungler was going to contest. No one showed, but the vision also showed me his ward in top river on my way out - easily setting up a gank because we now knew his trinket vision was gone.

The blast cone... I think it's a good balancing point actually. There are plenty of times when invading is a good but not great play (e.g. 70-30 play) and people don't want to make it because if the 30 happens the punishment is pretty big since their immobile. Given conditional mobility allows these guys to make this sort of play, and maybe also creates some punishment for the mobile guys who go for it when it's a 20-80 play because they can get out just by burning some cooldowns.

They're new. People typically don't like change. It's a lot better change than a lot of ones we've seen before though (removal of mana pots, introduction of an ability that blocks projectiles, keystone masteries, etc...) and yet we've gotten used to all of those.

the plants itself brings a level of 'randomness" that has no place on a game that people play competitively.... while they are far from breaking the game... the jungle shouldn't have little gimmicks like that.... anyone that thinks the plants are "beneficial" or that they are a good change... are the people that don't really care about consistency... they probably play SSB on Random Stage and Items on...

They're pretty whatever. I can see them being useful in situations but for the most part they just feel like cheap gimmicks. Doesn't really add anything to the jungle experience.

Riot should just add edible trees.
