season 7 has ended and the reward you'll get for season 7 has been locked regardless of what happens in ranked (barring a punishment).

season 8 has not started yet.

Preseason games will count towards MMR changes which in the long run are what determine your rank.

So whatever rank you end up in preseason won't matter to the rank you had in S7? Then will the border you'll get won't change anymore? Aight thanks!

I'll just prepare you in case you didn't know. Regardless if you keep playing ranked or take a break, just know that when S8 starts you're going to drop 4-6 divisions and have to climb again (Since I see you're silver 3, I assume you'll begin S8 around Bronze III or IV). If you keep playing and climb to say gold V, then S8 should start you in low silver. Some people get really disheartened to see their progress lost, but if you keep playing ranked it does affect where you start next season.
