Most champions can make it high with enough practice, but most of all it's champions with a lot of outplay potential. That's why you see so many Irelias, Jax and Akalis high up.

On the other side of the spectrum you also want champions that deny enemy playmaking, hence why Morg, Ali and Braum are usually popular.

Just play whatever you want dude, but if you want an easy champion to learn that can get you far if you master him I'd say Jax is still pretty good... but i've seen that Naut and Tahm top are becoming pretty strong lately but they seem like the kind that will never find stability tbh, Jax is always relevant.

Jax, Darius, and Gangplank have been meta or very near to it for 2-3 seasons. They require practice, Darius less than the other two, but all have a pretty high skill ceiling. Can't go wrong with any of them.

Urgot. One thing people always forget is that every shot from his W counts as an auto attack. You can get some pretty wild combinations because of that.
