Brand buff towards mid lane

As R!OT previously attempted bringing Brand to the mid lane more than just support and that I play brand frequently enough, i'd think to give some suggestions to maybe help towards mid lane over support. With the Conflagration (His E) I think it should have a new passive along the lines of when brand kills 3 minions in a row with conflagration, the mana and cooldown is refunded, this means that brand can have a great wave clear without using alot of mana to do so. Because both W+E at rank 9 is 170 mana, without item 3027 or any type of first mana item, it is hard to sustain. This doesnt benefit support brand because you wouldn't be killing minions in the first place. That's my Main idea for mid lane buff, maybe with his Pillar of Flame, lower the delay slightly, or add a new passive with the ult so when it bounces 3 times on champions, the cooldown is halfed? With these two ideas I'm not completely sure, but with the first Idea with Conflagration would definitely helpBrand

IIRC the reason Brand mid is inferior to Brand supp is because E max wasn't as good after the MYMU or something

So yes, buffing his E is the only way to bring mid Brand back

That would be an awesome buff to help out Brand. Trying to lane as him in mid is just painful due to how much mana you lose. It helped Vel'Koz so why not Brand?

I said it before and I will say it again; brand doesn't need a single buff. He didn't deserve or need his last passive rework that gave him a ton more damage for hitting several spells on a target. He is a midranged mage which puts him in some danger to be sure. But he can largely land his abilities despite an enemy being behind several minions/champs. Compare this to lux who is also midranged if she needs to land her full combo (q being the limiting factor). Lux has less damage even before that brand buff to his passive during the mage rework. Lux cannot itemize the way brand can to have some inherent safety via ap+hp items. Lux cannot combo abilities onto enemy champs nearly as easily as brand when there are many minions and/or champs in the way of her target (q only hits up to 2 targets). I know for some dumb reason people hate lux. But brand already does as well as - if not better than - her against squishy targets... AND... he is a much bigger threat to tanks. If a midranged mage deserves a buff - it's lux getting more damage on something other than her passive - not some already very high damage brand.

Statistically she is the better mid laner right now. He is stronger in support.

Also brands stun is easily blocked by minions. And he actually has to hit his w or get close enough to e or r to get a stun.

Saying minions are harder for her to combo around is silly.

There really isn't an argument here. She isn't top tier mid laner but Brand is a tier below her in midlane. Stats prove this regardless of how you feel about it.

Immobile mid range mage are just harder to pull off now. And he struggles to waveclear compared to better mid laners. If you don't have solid wave clear you are gonna struggle mid lane no matter what.

  1. Brand is played more as a support; that doesn't mean he is not viable or good midlane.
  2. Brand pillar of flame covers like an entire minion wave - you can hit someone. If you land this, you lane conflagration or whatever and 2 spell clear a whole minion wave. Lux needs to land e and then auto just to clear the backline. By which time her passive has worn off - requiring another e+autos combo to clear melee minions. I.E. brand has better waveclear. The only ways this doesn't hold true is if: It's late game and lux has 5+ items (laning is well over by now, which brand had a nicer time of btw) or you fed the crap out of lux and she has her items super early.
  3. You combo the minions, you hit the enemy mage hiding from your stun behind the minions. So they either take damage from that, or they run to the side of the minions to avoid the bounce/aoe of your pillar and conflagration or whatever and this leaves them open to you landing that stun. Hmmm.....
  4. Lux is an immobile mage. Her spells are no more mana efficient than brand's. Plus her shield is basically complete garbage unless you shield a teammate... leaving her essentially 2 spells to cast vs the 3 most mids have when trading damage... until you get ults. Speaking of which - brand's can slow, combo with his other abilities to proc his juicy passive (no running to aa range required - unlike lux; oh and more damage) and is point-n-click vs skillshot. So yeah...

If you do Q>E>W, the W gets the full damage buff on all minions, it's a more efficient waveclear.
