You ability to 1v1 him can greatly vary depending on skill and how play it, but they all have the potential to handle him.

For example, as Gnar you'd want to have Frozen Mallet, Randuin's Omen, and Thorrnmail and try to kite him out during the duel and his ultimate. As Trundle or Udyr, use your E when Tryndramere ults to get some distance and waste it's duration. As Mundo, kite him with Cleavers. As Warwick, you'll get a massive amount of movement speed to avoid fighting Tryndramere or chase him for the duration of his ultimate from your E.

I mean, if he's splitpushing you'd pretty much have to send only a single person to deal with him; otherwise you're putting your team at a significant disadvantage (alternatively you can try to force a 4v5 and try to wipe out the rest of the enemy team, somewhat risky though)

OT: Anyone who can kite Tryndamere is a pretty safe bet, even if they can't kill him, he won't be able to kill them

Then just pick someone with strong waveclear. You won't need to 1v1 him if you sit under tower. Yeah he can try to dive you but it's exponentially harder if he doesn't have minions.

Tryndamere is arguably the strongest duelist in the game late-game, so you need to utalize some solid strategies, tactics, and reflexive play to stand a chance as most champions, or run with specific counter-picks like Jax (who will usually beat him in a straight up 1v1 fight).

That said - Tryndamere's lanning phase is among the weakest in the game, his mid-game isn't much better, and his team-fight presence is non-existent. If you can't beat him early and mid game, and then play into his strengths late game, you deserve to loose to him. When it comes to a base-race, a 5-man team will push harder and faster than Trynd can alone, and you can always send more than 1 person to deal with Trynd if champions have the type of stall-tactics you're assuming if you "need" to deal with him. If the enemy team can force a stalemate 1 man down, so can yours.
