Lux QoL Change on Lucent Singularity

A while ago, back in patch 3.14 (according to the wiki), Gragas received a small change to his Barrel roll ability that enabled him to make it explode immediately on arrival if the ability key was pressed before the barrel hit. Quote from the wiki :<<Now has a small buffer before the barrel reaches its destination (not when Gragas casts it) where Barrel Roll can be activated again to explode on arrival.>> My thought is that it would be an interesting quality of life change if Lux had a similar mechanic for her E, Lucent Singularity, seeing as both abilities have a similar, if not identical mechanic. Nevermind this post if it already works that way

So, thoughts?

Why does everyone ask for Lux buffs... she's fine where she is

It's not a buff. Instead of smashing your key, you just have to press your key once

I think that Gragas was given that change because of the rework - he was only given it when he no longer bursted people with it.

Lucent singularity could become effectively unavoidable damage in lane if this change were to go through. It has a very wide area so would be even harder to avoid if Lux just aims for your feet and it comes from such a long range that retaliation is impossible for most champions.

This is a shame as a Lux would really like this later on in the game.

Yes please Riot this is the least you can do to help Lux. Look at her base ability cooldowns, base stats and mana costs. She needs your help Riot!!

i thought you were gonna suggest that it grew brighter(and did more damage) the longer it was on the field. she really needs help clearing minion waves :c

This is a QoL request that's been asked for many times. It's never received the attention from Riot for reasons... I can't say why it isn't getting the tweak Lux players want. It's long overdue especially considering many other mage champions have been getting QoL tweaks over the last year or so.

Honestly I think Riot just doesn't like her.

And Curling Viegar, people ask for Lux QoL changes and buffs often because she's always been a champion prone to having bugs and has generally always been living in other mages shadows. cough Xerath, Syndra, Orianna cough

EDIT: I just want to add that Lux W, Prismatic Barrier, shouldn't stop her from moving. That'd be a better QoL if you ask me.

This is way more than a QoL request and would make her faceroll broken. An ability like that without any sort of downside to activating it early would be a complete abomination. Gragas actually became more broken and the abomination he once was partially because of this change since he could just poke you endlessly.

How? By syncing his key press with the ability landing, a player can already make it "instant" so to speak. Not asking for a damage buff, just a change from spam E > hold E. Besides, it's not like she's currently in the hallway of 100% ban/pick

It practically removes the skill floor on the spell.

It shouldn't be that accessible to everybody. That basically obliterated AP Gragas's skillfloor so unless you're prepared for her to be nerfed afterwards then it's a bad change.

I have a hard time believing the suggested change would bring Lux into the OP realm. Lux has some pretty severe mana costs that punish spamming. Additionally, Gragas is a different champion with different issues. Comparing them as a whole isn't a fair comparison since they can be OP for different reasons.

I find it odd that you consider key mashing an element of skill. Do you play Riven ?

Just kidding

More seriously, I don't see what's so bad about this. It's something that can already be done relatively easily, and is an intended function of the ability; and all the change would do is make it marginally less harrowing to perform.
