she is op as heck her ult is trynd plus olaf

3TWarrior1 votes

it also lasts longer, but she has literally no lane or jungle phase

khorney1 votes

I can understand that I keep using her to get better. I think she works better top lane then jungler or supp .

They can't buff poppy.

In fact, Poppy is legitimately overpowered right now. I don't know why no one plays her.

Because she is quite poor for the majority of the game and her oft lauded/complained about "OP" ult means that she can avoid guards and reach the backline to target and destroy a carry, a task that is accomplished by other champs without having to have an awful early game and they frequently get a bonus dash or teleport to get out after they're done as well.

she increases her ad she is pretty tanky thanks to her passive and w she has a movement speed buff and her q does mega damage and she has a reverse trynd ult she is op people just dont play her

The Loveless1 votes

Do you prefer maxing q or e first?

khorney1 votes

umm q then w then e all e does is the dash and stun w makes her have more armor and ad

The Loveless1 votes

I see. I ask because i watched a Chinese player on this new channel I subbed to maxing e, but I'm used to maxing both q and w myself. Thx for the reply.

PROJECT Bear1 votes

I max q for the cdr, then e or e/w together. I don't max w over e though, because w merely increases your armor and speed a little bit, which is not going to be a game changer. however, if you manage to land e against a wall, it can actually do significant damage if it's not a lvl 1.

khorney1 votes

I would try maxing q w then e or q e then w and see if you see a diff

No wave clear, no sustain, no mana. She works great in some match ups but she has very noticeable weakness's.

khorney1 votes

Well she is a hypercarry weak early super strong mid and late game

EffectFX1 votes

Super strong mid game depends entirely on how well she did during laning phase. Her power spike can be delayed pretty significantly.

The Loveless1 votes

Because they always ult the support and fight the carry, while the support then CCs them to oblivion and makes them waste the ulti.

I don't understand why people don't just ult whoever they need to be assassinating so they can only worry about THAT person's cc and damage. She's tanky as balls so there's no reason to fear being killed.

PROJECT Bear2 votes

if 2 hostiles are at low health, you can get away with ulting one and killing the other (as long as you don't ult a cc heavy hostile off cooldown, of course), then turn around for a double kill, even in the middle of the enemy team with no back up. so, people will tell you to ult the hostile with less dmg and then attack the others.

the problem is you can end up not killing anyone, and your ult ends while you're in the middle of the enemy team.

so, a safe choice is to ult the hostile you want dead, and enjoy the 20-40% extra dmg to make sure they are dead.

3TWarrior1 votes

typically the correct target to ult is the one with the least crowd control and least damage potential, say if you are against a janna, she would more than likely have to waste her Q in a quick charge to have an attempt at you

there are also the lower damaging tanks or enemies that focus better long ranged than short, so she can move in and out

but usually, when a team sees poppy coming, they just outrun her ult

When exactly is that gonna happen?

Soon™.

Kushtrunk1 votes

I don't know if they are necessarily gonna buff her much, but all they said was that they were planning on changing poppy a bit to match the current meta and gameplay style.

EffectFX1 votes

She's just getting a full kit rework.

khorney1 votes

poppy is actually pretty op just undereated

Hasztalan21 votes

They are going to rework her completely like they did with Sion.

Catastrop1 votes

I thought it was just a VU.

Check here. Near the bottom is an explanation of Poppy's upcoming update.

Nobody plays her because her laning phase is so crappy, and she has mana issues that mess with her sustain in lane. I've had games where I've been bullied in lane hard, and even farming near tower is a pain because her wave clear is so terrible.

However if you're able to get over the early game laning phase and grab item 3078 and item 1001 , then it's GG for the enemy team and they'll realize why they hate Poppy rather quickly.

3TWarrior1 votes

technically, poppy is on the "rework" list, they could make her into a hammer smashing Pantheon and get rid of her ult completely or something nonsensical

they could probably replace a portion of her ultimate to her passive and give her something different

personally, I think it would be an interesting mechanic if she became more indestructible the tankier she is but loses damage as a result or something..it's an interesting idea, but it kinda ruins the idea of poppy XD

Bodkins Odds1 votes

They already confirmed that her ult and her passive are going bye-bye. The E is definitely staying, and no word on her Q or W.

The big problem is that they also said they wanted to make her into a full tank. ;_;

3TWarrior1 votes

well, it makes sense, she is the "iron" ambassador

PROJECT Bear1 votes

I love poppy and often play her. I'd rather not have an update than a bad update. I get around the weak early game most of the time. Thing is, you rarely get to the magical land of a full build poppy that melts the enemy team, so I'd trade a little late game potential for a bit more early game power.

it's true that if poppy gets a few kills early game, she can become really strong. the same is true for other champions, but poppy goes from very low to very strong, while other champions go from middle strong to very strong.

in that sense, she could use an update to boost her early game.

a dev said if she were played more they'd have to tone her down. that's because if she has a full build she can smash entire teams. however, that's also true of other champions.

in my experience, the most common situation with poppy is:

  1. a small % of games you get ahead early and by mid game you're scary
  2. a majority % of games you fall behind early, but as long as you're not losing too badly, you regain mid game and become scary
  3. a small % of games you fall behind and not come back.

of course, it also depends on how your team is doing.

She's actually a fairly strong niche pick as a jungler. Jungling bypasses a lot of her weakness and once she's has her Ultimate she can tower dive all day on lanes.

I can't say that I look forward to the rework though, as it will likely amount to full-on champion deletion and replacement as it was with Karma. There's no guarantee she won't just end up with a super generic kit and/or sub-par at whatever role Riot plans for her, falling in obscurity. At this point it might as well be expected because only new champions have the demand of viability as Riot stands to make the most money off new champions than updating old ones.
