My league client didnt let me join the game and i had to restart my pc so by the time i got into the game it was 8 mins in and i asked my team why they didnt remake. They said that i was connected into the game but i wasnt after 30 mins in we won the game and at the after match stats a got a leaver buster and i lost lp too is this a bug (i'll probably post the after game pic later ) thanks

InTheory1 votesLeaving the game at any point is treated equally by the system. Even returning does not make you lose the penalty of losing LP and getting a leaver puster penalty. I don't say I like it the way it is, but it's not completely arbitrary either. Many players get tilted, quit the game and get back after some time because they start to realize that they'll get punished. You usually only get leaver buster penalties if that happens more than a single time within some period of time. Having technical problems or bad internet is considered something one has to be aware of, especially if that happens occassionally and therefore doesn't end up as valid excuse.
dim2a1 votesLeavebuster aside though, this system is unfortunate, as it seems that if you had early trouble, it's not really worth to try to reconnect (for people trying to climb that is), as even if you win the game, you get a loss anyway, right? Might as well stay out, have your team ff earlier, so you can start a new one sooner?
Mysticman891 votesI believe one still gets mmr for the victory even if they lose LP and have leaverbuster penalties, so theres still some personal benefit in terms of climbing.
Trying to help your team overcome your absence is also The Right Thing To Do™ so theres that aspect.
