Needlessly Serious Tips & Tricks for CO-OP vs. AI with 8394729345 botters around

Hello. With Twisted Treelines gone, tons of botters have emigrated to Summoner's Rift to farm XP through botting. Yes, I know most of you will not care about this information but sometimes we may dive into CO-OP vs AI matches in instances like these:

  • You want to start fresh new after making a new gmail address
  • You want to teach your friend while spamming ctrl + 6 with Yasuo for most of the game
  • You want to quickly rush and get First Win of the Day reward, log out, and move on with life
  • You want to simulate doing 1v5 just because you feel like it. I mean, we are all humans™, come on.
  • You knowingly want to dive into the game full of botters and test your limits where the game literally becomes doombot of 3v7, 2v8, or 1v9.
  • You find the life outside shitshow going on during preseason.

With all the BS aside, I decided to write small notes for those who play CO-OP vs AI, a gamemode that is designed for newcomers to this game as well as existing players who enjoy the mode as well. Until Riot stops making new music videos, working on Star Guardian skins, and defending every inter and flamer that cry pointing on one profanity in chat window, the gamemode may have to stay a little bit flawed. In order to avoid finding yourself getting overwhelmed by bots and having your will to live drop the fastest speed possible in the domain of physics, I went ahead and played a lot of AI games after Twisted Treeline's deletion (I can confidently say well above 50, if not 100) to observe botted Champion's behavior and still have the most fun out of it. Here are my tips.

1. Understand botters' tendencies If you see a 'summoner' with Ghost and Heal as summs and if they are quick to lock their champion in, it is safe to assume they are botting. This is not the stage where you want to start witch hunting and start calling them out, because they may actually be newer players so don't make yourself become an obnoxious human being just yet. After the game begins, if the Champion with Ghost / Heal just stays in the fountain for the first minute of the game (the time for idleness may vary), and leaves fountain with item 3675 they are 99% a botter. Tell yourself that you will report the fuck out of this kid and get yourself ready for laning.

For those unaware, AI's team initiates laning phase with 2 top, 1 mid, and 2 bot. Depending on your situation, 1v2ing in the lane may happen because the bots just wander around, but something worse can happen. They stay in your lane, steal your cs, take a turret shot or two every minute, and straight up int. That is not to mention that they perfectly arrive at the moment where you get your valuable gold from turret platings, and that is not to mention more than just one bot may stop by and suck your XP and gold, only to build the worst items you can imagine on those champions.

That is not where the ordeal ends. Botters move to different lane time to time, doing the same thing with stealing your XP and running down to turrets. Thanks to how AIs from the other teams are programmed, they can't snowball too well themselves, but once they get the first turret, they will gather in lane and push down with Yorick's willpower. So your first goal should be, avoid going lane where botters go and fill empty (or otherwise unreliable) lanes to get the first turret, lure multiple bots in your lane and repeat killing them.

2. Be a little more careful with everything If you are one of the human beings in your team and if the rest of the teams are botters and genuinely new players, you are in trouble. The higher level and the higher your bounty goes up, your mistake will cause direr consequences as your death timer will get longer and AIs will push down lanes more aggressively over the game. At this point you may wonder how will you ever die to AIs, but it does happen. AIs use auto aimbots so unless you are actively trying to dodge, DrMundo will hit every single q, Brand will insta E-Q your face the moment you jump into him, and if you run into multiple AIs at once, they will spam all CCs on you. Yes, Amumu ult + Malphite ult + Nami ult can happen at once so if you are trying to 1v5 as squishy, it may not work well. Botters in your team will obviously not be cooperative with anything you do in the game aside from helping pushing the lane, so try to bait and kill a few AIs at a time, bait our their CC-ults and summs (summoner 3 summoner 4 summoner 6 summoner 7 are programmed to be used when AIs are at about 20-30% health I believe) in advance.

3. If you intend to win, pick a correct champion If you don't care about winning, you can just sit in nexus and have fun watching botters seemingly try their best but end up inting the whole game. But if you are playing CO-OP vs. AI Intermediate mode knowing that botters are easily more than half the population, you may want to test doing 1v5 with certain champions or see if you are capable of winning as one man army. They are AIs after all, so if you start snowballing with objectives, farming and stuff, you will easily win, but this is not the case for all champions in any situations. Say, you are not going to win against a bot lane with Lucian + Alistar as Yuumi because by the time you get full build of AP or crit items the nexus would have been blown up.

Here is my recommended list of 1v9 champions you may want to use in this environment of game mode if you intend to teach your friend or survive a self-given test with botters in your team:

Aatrox Much like in norms and ranks, this thing does infinite damage and heals an infinite amount of health, and this expression is not an exaggeration when AIs do not walk away when you hit Q on the edges every time. The only issue I had carrying with this champion is early game wave control where Q has long cooldown and does pitiful damage to minions. But once you get first tower and start running around the entire map to take care of the mess the botters made for you to clean up, you'll get a lot of farm and kills thanks to the virtue of Aatrox's crazy sustain and no cost from using skills. I personally do not recommend try doing 1v4 or 1v5 until you get Death's Dance + Streak's Gage.

Darius Noxian child still runs down and kills people when he feels like it, and he can survive 1v9 games very well. The usage of mana can be bothering as you are forced to recall, but you are forced to move around maps anyways as botters in your team constantly shit on every lane that you are not in, and your wave clear is fast with Q. You can prevent losing CS (particularly cannons) thanks to W, and once you get Phage, just about every pull results in a kill - during this, hemmorage damage can trigger a summ spell from an AI before they die to damage. Darius's high base stat gives him an edge on 1vX fights from early on, your Q heal comes back faster as you build CDR from items like triforce, and you get turrets down fast with on-hit W and Demolish, as just about every viable stuff you build on Darius has health.

Gangplank This guy definitely sucks ass until it gets some items out but from some point, he can pretty much 1v5 the entire game because AIs walk into power kegs all the time, so you can at worst keep sending AIs to fountain without even having to interact with them at all. If you get CCed, you have your orange. You can also aid the other lane if they are too pushed to your side with your ult. With passive and the DPS you gain from items, you also take down turrets faster.

Mordekaiser Pretty much every damage from Mordekaiser is AOA, and the dude scales well off of AP items so you can snowball things easily with Mejai's Soulstealer. By the time you reach max stack, you'll do damage of regular Mordekaiser with 2-3 items with just one item that costs 1.4k Gold. The biggest draw of using Mordekaiser is ult that lets you bait and dodge all the important CCs from AIs if timed correctly, and use the victim to safely activate Darkness Rise and max stack conqueror. Unless your team is behind like 20+ kills, you literally can't die after killing the victim in Death Realm and come out to fight the rest of the AI. If you have to move around to wave clear 3 different places, consider using items like Spellbinder early on.

MasterYi Yasuo Even if you commonly go 0/13/0 with these champions in PvP, you are guaranteed to scale vs AIs. Get your farming done fast, and start doing 1vX to quickly reach the point where your DPS goes to murderous level.

If there is another human in your team, ADCs with high area damage like Jinx MissFortune can be a nice option to end the game earlier. Sorry that I can't comment more about this because I don't really play ADC. Poke champs with decent waveclear or high burst damage like Brand Lux Velkoz Xerath are nice as well, and they scale well off from mejai's.

I hope this provides a bit of useful insight to those who stop by CO.OP vs AI modes of League of Legends time to time, and I hope my observation helps out new players to a degree and make Riot more aware of the situation with botters right now. I will not pretend that I understand difficulty dealing with them, but alleviating the issue is far from impossible. Same goes with problems with trolling and ban evading. I reported about 20 botters so far because I often forget to do so but so far I got 0 feedbacks yeet

Peace.

Garen with sanguin blade. Spin to win beyblade. Was playing blitz jungle earlier tonight and told the Garen that if could play it damage I would go super tank, carried so hard I had to thank him for it. Our other three champs were all ghost to feed bots. Actually ended up kind of a fun match. Did take some time for us to get it under control though.

I lost one game with Garen because we lost 2 inhibs before I got 2 items. I'll try that next time though lol. Thanks

I mostly tried to list champs that have high lifesteal + AOA damage potential and can survive CCs. That's part of the reason why I didn't choose assasins though they can help end fast if there is another human in the team. I guess Sivir and Kai'Sa is nice though.

Aatrox and Gangplank aren't noob friendly and they need to snowball to get ahead I haven't played enough morde to judge that but because enemy bots all play like its Aram mid game you need someone who can play around that while being in a 3v4 2v5 etc.... Caitlyn is pretty good because she is super safe also...

  • Bots don't have priority targets - their targetting is basically "nearest enemy champion". Let your ally bots face tank 5 ults and wipe floor after.
  • Bots always defend their base, you can stop a winning 5 man push by simply splitpushing up to their inhib turret because they will recall.
  • Certain bots are legit dumb (the ones with death passives I think). Karthus literally lets you kill him for no reason.
  • Bots group up very hard, makes for easy AoE wipes if you just have 1 human teammate to help you with setting up.
  • Reset champs snowball stupidly hard here in 1v5-ing bots.
  • Funnel yourself - i.e. take solo lane exp while clearing camps (with smite item), then use the level advantage to farm enemy duo laners for kills. Upgrade jungle item ASAP to get rid of Monster Hunter.

I play a lot of weird shit for fun (AD Annie/Crit Mundo/AP Shen) in bots so I come across these a lot.
