So me and My friend had an argument about Markmans/ADC

BlacksragonYT··2 votes·2,079 views

So the argument started when my friend said is that top and mid lanes matchups matter but bot lanes matchup does not matter cause all marksmans do is auto attack but then i mentioned champions like lucian or xayah who seem to have there primary output behind abilities so im posting this to see what others think about this do marksmans need abilities or can they just right click the entire game and than 1 v 5 as my friend claims

Sorry if i fucked up in grammar i just suck at it and if you got any questions cause something in unclear then ask and ill try to answer them

yeah no worries.

marksmen do need abilities to differentiate each other.

if you think all adcs do is right click, you've never played adc

Its a real argument distilled down to its core. Marksmen largely do not require additional skills besides the basics in order to function at a high level, and a good marksmen main can be labeled as such by their refinement of basic mechanics. Unlike every other class of champion which has additional things besides basics to learn nowadays.

That is not to say playing marksmen is easy. Theres a LOT of pressure for the strongest class of champion to perform, and a bad marksman will usually lose you the game if theyre your only carry.

@thread Matchups matter but they matter in a different way than say... mid or jungle. Different marksmen have different power levels at certain parts of the game and have different strengths; those strengths eventually equalize in the late game, but you never want to be ashe going against lucian or teemo.

i was talking more about peole that say all you have to do is right click to play adc and its "soooo easy" aka people who just assume and have never actually played the role

Please inform your friend, as politly as possible, that a complete stranger on the internet thinks he is an idiot.

Matchups always matter. Bot has more matchups by virtue of support.

after a week or so ill send him the link to this forum post so he will see it

some marksman do and others don't.

Caitlyn does cause it gives free Headshots. Tristana is kinda useless without her E Draven his passive is supported by his Q MissFortune her Q is her main source of damage not counting her passive. Jhin needs his abilities cause he has such low attack speed. Teemo uses everything but normal auto attacks (which are empowered by his E) Ashe if using only Q then sure, she can auto all day long.

Xayah needs her abilities Kaisa is dead in the water without her abilities

Ezreal needs his abilities to be useful.

so form the 3 adc i mainly play yes they need abilities.

"Only using autos" doesn't make matchups irrelevant.

There's a lot of skills besides just using abilities, and there's simple powerspikes. If you're playing a hypercarry there's a huge difference in the matchup against another hypercarry and against a lane bully.

And that's just ADC versus ADC, not even considering the combinations of ADC and support. Cait+Soraka is a significantly different lane from Cait+Morgana - The first one is a lot of Cait and Raka poking and trying to scale into late, while the other is aggressively chaining roots and just crushing the lane. Playing against a Blitz or Thresh changes how aggressive you can be...Unless your support is Morg, who'll let you be just as aggressive, or Braum or Leona, who'll willingly be hit by the hook for the free engage.

Botlane has the most dynamic matchups in the game, with shittons of variations and matchup-dependent playstyles.

Having played ADC. it is the easiest role so long as you focus primarily on your positioning. Especially helps when you have a passive support whose life goal is to keep you alive. Adc's who rely primarily upon auto attacks to do damage Vayne KogMaw Twitch should have some of their kits reworked and power moved to their abilities. These champions are not necessarily boring, in fact people genuinely enjoy them, but right click champions in general Jax Tryndamere MasterYi just feel anti-fun. Much better when you're actually outskilled instead of out statted.

But I mean twitch uses ult and e as his primary damage and vayne her w and kog does not need his w but it helps him alot like im not sure what you exactly mean cause im kinda confused could you please elaberate more for me?

Twitch E is something you use and want to maximize stacks on, which mean autos (5 if memory serves) to get that max dmg E. His R just gives him Range + Stats+ Splash damage to his autos.

Vayne W is literally the 3 hit passive. She stacks it from autos.

Both of these champions rely on their auto attacks in order to utilize their abilities, rather than champions like Caitlyn Ashe who use their abilities in order to weave in their auto attacks.
