The Illaoi buffs are nice, but not enough.

So I have been playing a lot of Illaoi recently. I really like her kit, but she has a few glaring problems.

I think the reduced mana cost on E will help, but she's a very mana hungry champion and E is not one of the main spells you will use in lane. E is a very slow skillshot that is blocked by minions. All the enemy champion has to do is dodge behind the minions when you start to go for it. Even without minions, it's still difficult to hit. So decreasing the mana cost of E doesn't help her all that much.

But my biggest issue with Illaoi currently is her god awful autoattack frame. I find myself cancelling so many autos each game, losing cs and kills, because her autoattack frame doesn't line up with any of the other champs I play. It's just so slow. In the same way that you cancel your autos, you can also cancel W-autos. This is so impactful for Illaoi, as her ultimate relies on you getting multiple W's off in a short time.

Are there any other Illaoi players out there? What do you think, and are there any more issues to be added?

I have also played Illaoi some and have never come into mana issues EXCEPT when I was absolutely spamming my abilities to try and force the enemy out of lane or when I was maxing my E first to make the mana cost 35-75. I think this change should help that a lot, allowing me 1-2 more Es in lane or mana for another spell.

If I were to change Illaoi, I would make it so her W's base damage was reduced, but didnt cost mana during her ultimate. It kind of annoys me how her ultimate costs 100 mana, yet actually requires about 160+ mana to be an actual ultimate.

HOWEVER, I feel like any Illaoi buffs will be looked down upon since the community finds her too frustrating to play against.

Sion has the same problems his aas get canceled a lot especially when he's in his passive and sion eats mana way faster than illaoi...quit your complaining and be grateful your champion does damage without building that many damage items. Illaoi is fine where she is if anyone needs buffs it's sion.

And also talking about her e being a slow skillshot? Have you seen sion's q? It takes like 4 seconds to get the full effect so go play a champion that requires a bit of thought and planning before you talk to me about slow skillshots.

Sion's q isn't a skillshot... And if you don't think Illaoi requires thought and planning, you must be thinking of a different champion.

I don't think you understand that the champions are supposed to do different things. Sion is a tank, Illaoi is a juggernaut. They fill different roles. Look at win rates, Sion performs his role well, Illaoi does not. I could go on, but there's really no point.

Sion isn't a juggernaut? Last time I checked Sion's name was... "Sion – the Undead Juggernaut" :P A role of building tank but still having tons of damage is horrendous for game balance. Her E is bullshit to deal with in lane and it's almost impossible to recall while you're cursed or whatever it is. Honestly she doesn't need anymore power.

Doesn't matter his name, riot made sure to make him a tank, not a juggernaut

It was a joke... and no sion came out before the juggernauts.. I'm pretty sure they would have made him a juggernaut if they hadnt previously reworked him..

Don't think so. His kit can't be used on a juggernaut. They would have to reworked him on something else

I just checked your match history and used the filter to search for illaoi games and it came up with no results...

You're right, I haven't played any ranked games with Illaoi cause I just stated she's in a terrible spot...

Illaoi doesn't really need buffs to her lane phase, she just needs to be more useful afterwards which is what the buffs were meant to help with.

I am a illaoi player, and I do think she needs buffs. Not to her early game, but to her mid-late game because she is just plain useless at this point of the game. One thing I would like is to change her passive to 3 hitpoints, but melee champs take 2 hitpoints of it when they attack it. This would make her actually better against ranged champions that pretty much make her useless the whole game. Her AA frame and W AA frame are god awful. They take way too much time to complete , making me cancel several AAs. Also, she is very mana hungry. Another thing I hate is the fact that she can be moved during her ult dunk. Makes no sense to me. The radius is already small, and you can also be moved to make sure you will not hit people on your bad ult range already. She needs some buffs. Not early ( except her passive idea I just talked ), but to her late game. She is all about zoning and yet still late game her passive CD is way too high and way too easy to deny
