you can see all the patch notes which affected udyr on udyr's wiki page. (reverse engineer a bit and you get all his previous stats)

The champions in itself was never really broken, he just synergized too much with several items over the years (innervating locket, runic echoes,...). At which point he became unkillable with insane movement speed, basically running down every squishy through every possible tower since his W gave him spammable shields

You could argue that he always was strong in melee combat and clearing jungle camps, but he was always kept down by cc

Whether it be Sated Devourer or Runic Echoes Udyr, he was really disgusting to face last season. Early game-based, Runic Echoes + Zz'Rot (gates build as made by Trick2G) was the go-to for Udyr and those 2 items simply turned him into a split-pushing monster.

Mid to Late game-based, Sated Devourer Udyr was also disgusting to face because he was impossible to duel with Sated Devourer and him stance-dancing.

lol you werent there for runic echos udyr? count urself lucky

dude had insane movespeed, he ran around with stuff like iceborn, zzrot, swiftness boots deadmans and hed go where he pleased, attack your towers and even if you send 3-4 guys to deal with him, he'd dictate the fight entirely and just bitch slap you and run off, only to come back 30 seconds later.

Imagine Tryndamere, but you can never touch him.
