AP JUNGLERS GOOD FOR SOLO Q?

With the new ap jungling item it requires you to buy sheen before you actually make an impact ganking, especially junglers such as Diana who do near to nothing pre 6. Now I may be wrong and just want thoughts on the new item, whether it really is beneficial for solo q or you rely to much on the lanes going even or winning early game. Thanks.
