AFK's in Ranked Promos

Why is it that we lose our LP and our Promos if someone goes AFK in our game, causing us to lose? I just lost my promos because of a AFKs three games in a row! Why can't they be wiped from my record and give me another chance? Is there anyone in RIOT to talk to to get this solved? The first one, the person never connected, the second on DC'd early game, and the third DC'd after saying that they were leaving to go get high. Each one ending in a loss. I worked my butt off and won 6 Ranked games in a row to get out of B5, and this ruined it. RIOT PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!

This is a great suggestion for the ranked system. However I must ask what would happen if the players on the team know that they are going to lose and have one guy volunteer to go afk to negate the match. Also would this count as a win for the team without afks?

How many games have you won thanks to an AFK?

oops i accidentally click no. I was going to put yes cause it still counts as a lost but we lose a lower amount of LP than usual.

If you're in bronze 5 then one simple solution if you have an afk... Don't team fight... Split push like crazy .. I know Damon well in bronze 5 people will go top for that 1 split pusher... If that happens, have everyone rush bot and take towers/drag...no buts! Just do it .. Not guaranteed win but higher chances. Also ward your entire jungle to make sure you don't get picked off easily

It honestly only should count for the afk. It's really unfair for people in their promos to be held back, not because of their inability to cooperate and coordinate with a team, but because of the selfishness of a single player giving the enemy team an unfair advantage.

I do have a confession to make though, I have afk'd more than once to intentionally force someone to fail their promos. I know it is a dickhole move, but 100% of the time they were incredibly rude people, and I had absolutely no desire to extend any effort they may have benefited from.

"But that about the other 3 players on the team? it's not their fault." No it is not their fault, unfortunately they are collateral damage. Innocent victims made to suffer because of the selfishness of two players.

The only problem I see is if it's clear you're going to lose, one person could "take the hit" and afk, saving the rest of their team from losing points. There's probably some way to avoid that, but I can't think of it off the top of my head.
