devourer confusion

so i under stand feral flame was way over powered on some champs so in order to balance the game with the new jungle you removed it from the game, i think, but what i don't get is after having such a happy decently balanced jungle with few problems you brought sated devourer in to the picture which took champs from annoying to just ridiculously powerful. i understand you need 30 stacks but for some champs the balancing seems horrible and extremely off and then once they have 30 stacks these champs seem to carry the game with ease master yi is a example of this and the worst thing about that is yi is such a low skill level champ but he is ridiculously powerful for a low skill champ. so my question is what is the goal of this item, is there a reason after learning from feral flame you decided its A ok to bring it into the game, is there going to be changes to it anytime soon to stop some of the ridiculous champs who have gone from annoying jungler to over powered? (i could care less about champs who have no become part of the jungle because of devourer the ones i have seen really have not been so bad that it was un fair), Or is there some form of way to help prevent these champs from becoming this powerful?

  1. Paragraphs. wall of text isnt good to read.

  2. The jungle wasnt balanced, and infinite devourer promotes a "jungle carry" and "farm till you lose" mentality; riot wants the jungle to HAVE to interact with lanes. You cannot be gold or XP efficient compared to laners without ganking.

  3. Riot doesnt like jungle carries. They have been creating and grooming the quintuple/triple support meta since the start of S5.

oh sorry i was trying to do this decent did not mean to paragraph the questions and make it hard to read

if they do not want jungle carries then why would they promote them so much and buff them so heavily with devourer

and i just took a bit to look for this support meta you are talking about i cant find it anywhere can you please explain or maybe find something that will explain it to me?

triple/qaudruple support meta: Tank-support top lane (Gragas, maokai, alistar, etc) Jungler-support (Lee-sin, gragas, etc (havent really been watching LCS...)) Mid-lane support (Ryze, annie, etc) Traditional support bot lane ADC

You hardly ever see Vi anymore in professional play; and its because riot is promoting a support meta. It just so happens that a lot of peoples concept of support is VERY skewed; Champions can play support as long as they have hard CC and/or some kind of burst. Most champions who fit that bill ARE NATURALLY TANKY and have a lot of CC or kill-secure abilities that keep the ADC alive, making people falsely believe its a "tank meta".

In fact, this game hasnt been so ADC centric since... like S2~S3. You had the jungle carry then.
Due to riots current rhetoric of balance, you dont HAVE the option to carry from other roles unless you specifically choose a champ who is still capable of it; and even then, youre only hurting the team because you didnt choose an off-support for your ADC in higher level play.

Sated devourers is the illusion of choice; and it only reinforces the support the ADC meta because its got a SMALLER champion pool than feral flare type and it only works on CHAMPIONS WHO STACK ON-HIT effects. It also forces you to play a certain way. For example... i play jungle shyvana the same way i do phantom lancer in DotA: Defend the base; Farm the jungle: Push the waves: Stay alive: Assassinate split pushes. With riots current jungle, i will always be gold and XP starved compared to laners unless i gank (successfully). While i agree that non-interaction isnt... flashy, riots jungle items force you to play a specific way; More often than not, that specific way is best suited for tanks with strong CC.

yi might look like hes simple, but he has one of the highest skillcaps in the game. maybe low skillfloor, but the higher you climb, the harder it gets to carry with him.

like with most melee adc, youre walking on the razors edge. make no mistake and you can probably carry your team. make one mistake and you blow up.

im not even playing him, but i admire people who can pull the champion off against skilled opponents.
