An immobile mage has a way to deal with people jumping on her that has a minimum cast range so she can't drop it on top of her self.
There are a lot of reasons I dislike Cass and her general balance, but her W is the most fair thing in her kit.
If you get stunlocked and she throws a W under your feet that sucks indeed but other than that you can easily walk out of it in a second
