Fix the ranking system Rito.

Over the past 2 years, I've come to realize how busted the ranking system is for league. You could win 9/10 placement games, carrying your team and being positive KDA for the most part, and get bronze 5 (speaking from experience on more than one occasion.) And the grind to raise past bronze is, time-consuming, irritating, and boring. And the matchups for the players placed on your team compared to the ones on the other don't make sense. For example, you could get the one fizz in all of League history that actually feeds on your team, and a janna mid that goes 30/0. As to how that happens, idk, I always thought that you were paired with, and against people of your same skill level.

To give some perspective, my duo partner and I have done 12 games in the past day, and lost 8 of those, in a row. He's Silver III, and I am Bronze II. My partner mains mid, and about 95% of the time, he totally destroys his lane opponent. and due to lack of communication, the other lanes let their opponent roam, and get fed off of him and myself (because i'm usually the jgler). We fall way behind the other team, and get blamed for losing the game, and derank because we can't win a game due to stupid decisions made by teamates. We've been stuck in the same division for almost a week now, because we can't get cooperative teams, or thrown a bone the size of a t-rex's skull like the opposite team has. Now, I'm not sure if it pairs us with people of his skill level, or mine, but I seriously hope at this point, it's random, because I can't fathom how we are as terrible as our teammates seem to be.

I could just be ranting at this point, but I honestly think something, or multiple things, need to change. having a support taking kills from our adc and our top lane leaving a riven to roam and get fed hardly seems like ranked behavior, more like something people do in bots. At this point, ranked doesn't seem worth it, because I do not have the time, or patience to deal with it. Spending a week just trying to get out of bronze II and Silver III shouldn't be as painful as it is.[slayer-jinx-unamused]

60% of your matches are determined by riot deciding if you deserve a balanced match or not.

So what you're saying is that you have been in bronze 5 for 2 years, and you can't get out, and you think you belong is a higher tier? K. Laughs in plat earned through years of grinding and actual self-reflection and realization of my own skills and weaknesses

Fact: placement matches suck, but they suck for at least half of the playerbase and are DESIGNED to place you lower than your last season end rating by design to prevent people from escaping bronze by sheer luck. Fact: play enough games and you WILL ALWAYS end up at the appropriate skill level. This is also by design, and is as good a rating system as can be expected in a game like this. You want a complete fair, unbiased, and completely objective system? Go play chess, that's literally the game for which elo was invented. If this doesn't appeal to you, stop whining and start winning.

I feel your pain, I climbed up through gold 5 into gold 2 in a week. Then gold 1 in another week. Perfectly reasonable along with a little luck. I realized I, MYSELF, started playing way better and actually had the drive to learn the game. Yesterday I was sitting in gold 4 w/ 30 some lp and now im in gold 3 about to get demoted again. You know why? Because multiple, multiple times I am the one thats fed, and I have to carry. But you can't carry or win a game with a person that has almost 10 deaths. I thought silver was bad, I saw this bullshit in almost every game, its just the case in gold. I thought I got to gold 1 because I was getting better at the game, maybe I am. Honestly? It's probably just luck.

Focus on what you and your duo can do to improve, like roaming together to bot Lane and getting turret. Putting the blame on teammates for your deaths will never allow you to improve.

  1. I agree ranked rarely pairs you with both opponents AND teammates of comparable skill level. Worse still, it rarely gets an even mix of trolls/feeders on the enemy team vs games with those people on your team.
  2. If you are going to play agro, you need to use wards and WATCH other lanes to spot them roaming so you can escape BEFORE their roams can get you killed.
  3. There is NOTHING wrong with a support taking a kill instead of giving it to the adc. If the support didn't needlessly blow summoners to ensure they get the kill when the kill was already guaranteed, there is nothing wrong with this. When the support is playing smart, there is nothing wrong with this. At the elo you and your friend are at, the support is actually generally better than the adc in terms of skill and decision-making. Too many times people write off the support - don't listen to pings, then flame for "no mia", don't listen to shotcalls and then die for making a dumb decision, blame a "feeding support" for the bot lane feeding when the adc is making dumb plays and the support is paying the price.
  4. If you are bronze and your friend is silver with such a difference in rank, either you are under-ranked by a large amount or you need to find a different friend because you are too different in your rank to really be playing with him/her - your opponents will have higher skill and decision-making than you regardless of how good or horrible your teammates are.

I feel you dude, that was me in season 5 and 6. I was silver and st and barely kept gold in s6. Played with my plat friend to climb in gold, he didn't even carry most games yet when I didn't play with him I detailed from gold 1 to gold 5. Simply it's too hard to carry a game of bad people, that's why I became a support main, I got tired of struggling to carry so I decided "I'm gonna setup my team to carry me." I mean if FaZe jev a CoD player can get plat as support I probably can too. But what you should do is just get better at the game stop carrying about your team mates and focus on self improvement and you should eventually get better. I had a friend who 2 weeks ago was straight bronze 4 and today he raised a whole tier because he got better at the game and stopped caring about others. I legit didn't play league for a month yet I did good and went on a winning streak not cuz I had good team mates but I was able to do my job correctly.

And if you main jungle, let your team mates take the kills so they become useful then tax them if you do the math a few waves of cs is equal to kill, cs is more important then kills and so are objectives.

Always keep this in mind objectives>cs>kills

To add to your argument, I'm gold 5. It took me 200 games to get out of Silver III. Now it is threatening to demote me (no joke I have screenshots at 1 LP being told I need to win more games to stay in Gold 5, despite not being on like 15 game loss streak). I play with my Silver III duo who we have been playing together since I started League. We got put on a team earlier with an Ahri who could not speak comprehensible English, and kept referring to my duo who was playing Lunar Kog as the "red god". Next lobby, some guy said that he was going top Nunu and planned on feeding to "punish Riot for putting him in low-priority queue". and we left. No joke, when Riot wants you demoted, there is nothing you can do.

Want proof? I took screenshots because I have never seen a guy call my duo a red god or get mid and bot mixed up.

I saw a guy with a 4 win 16 lost and somehow because of this stupid placement and since he was diamond 5 last season he got to start off in platinum 4.....

TBH, I wont 8 placement games and got placed bronze 1, As supportmain, getting shittier teams every match after that

I think Rito strives for a 50% winrate for every player, if you win more than that they give you noob players, and if you are one off the noob players below 50%winrate they give you higher players. so everyone gets a "fair" chance to win..

except for supportmains

cuz suports cant carry D!ck.. no matter how hard you try there always is a yasuo main who thinks he can 1 v9 even tho he is 1 / 15 .

Best example i Had was going 5/1/33 on Taric and that one death was because we tried to go for baron which was our only option at this point.

if you win too much rito will give you shittier teams, only way to climb is by playing jungler. no wonder the rank 1, 2 AND 3 on the korean Sever is..

a jungler main

Sorry for digging up an old post, i Just googled " why do I get silvers" and I came up here.

rito fixx it.

Also your MMR is super low. At the start of the season, everyone got an MMR reset, so they get placed lower than they finished last season, so this happened to everyone

Hyrum Graff3/20/2017, 8:19:24 AM1 votes

If he's drawing roams from other laners, that's great! If the other lanes roam and don't get anything for it, it puts them behind. It's even better because both of you can help ward mid from both sides, so he can stay safe from those roams.

your cs numbers are too low to be climbing any time soon, i even think that you might be a hindrance to your duo partner because he's actually pretty efficient with csing and KP%. your friend regularly tops the damage table while you barely scrape top 4. If we take the statistics into account, it'd probably be more beneficial for you to climb solo because as we all know duoing will artificially inflate your perceived skill level pitting you against tougher teams unless either you or the duo are actually more skilled than the system thinks.
