Focus on the end game recap to see your statistics that game to see if you even did anything worth while for you team such as warding or assisting in taking objectives. Look where you do well such as creep score, and see how you can do that better by freezing lane for example. Focus on your game, and your statistics it helps you improve a lot.

In areas where you lack such as ward control, or positioning in team fights (For carries/high damage champions your damage output is almost always determined by your positioning on the map) you can improve them by watching a replay of fights or warding sooner. Where you need wards is highly dependent on what is on the map, and what each team's composition can do at a certain point in game. Warding isn't just the supports job, it is extremely important for the entire team. Top lane should look to buy at least 3 wards for a long laning phase (1-2 on your first back, 1-2 on each consecutive back if possible. Its hard to remember sometimes as a top laner), because it helps you protect yourself from the enemy jungler.

A few things before I give a brief overview of the warding I will be trying to explain: "*" means you would prefer to have your mid laner pushing the wave into their tower so they can come help you immediately if anything should -come up.

"**" means you want to set these up with at least 1 person with the jungler, and it is set up to not only stop ganks, but the objective is the buff that will be spawning. Set these wards up 1-2 minutes before the buff spawns. BRING AT LEAST 1 PINK (if they have a stealth champion bring multiple), and put it in a bush no one checks like the bushes in front of red buff.

"***" means you want to group up and ward/clear wards. As a general rule you want to buy a sweeper on your first back if you can squeeze some wards into your inventory. This only is effective if you are actively warding and controlling your mid lane though vision with your jungler. This is effective for mid lane, jungle, top lane, and support with Sightstone first back/Mobis and wards first back. ALWAYS BRING PINKS TO THESE OBJECTIVES.

Warding for a jungler and mid laner(lane phase, and support setting up for dragon (Steps 4/5)): 1"".You want to ward the enemy wraith camp bush (The bush directly above the camp on purple side, and the bush directly below it on blue) 2.Ward the river bushes near dragon and baron (One pink per player usually will cover these two spots for a decent span of time if the enemy jungler isn't prowling for wards) 3.Ward the enemy jungle bush/exit by enemy red buff towards the river (You do not need the ward in the bush behind red buff, but you want vision of this area as a mid laner because it keeps you safe from most ganks except for the one route they can take around your blue buff over a jungle wall from river. That route is taken out if bottom lane wards the river.) 4"".Ward around the enemy blue buff (The wolf camp ward is decent, ward in the bush at the blue buff as well as the bush behind wolf camp about 2 minutes before a buff spawns) 5"".Ward around the enemy red buff (Ward the wraith camp bush, and the bush directly below it) 6"". Warding for dragon is dependent on the side you are on, and what your team composition can and is willing to do. Repeat steps 2(Step 2 must be done no matter what, only ward the dragon's singular river bush), Blue side completes step 4 Red side completes step 5 If you do not want to fight , and you want to rush dragon complete step 2 with a PINK WARD item 2043 and use a pink ward slightly outside of the dragon pit. 7"*" Warding for baron is dependent on the side you are on. Complete the step 2 for the BARON. Blue side completes step 5 Red side completes step 4 This gives you full vision of the enemy jungle. This allows you to set up traps.

Key for supports and ADC(lane phase): Yes ADC should ward with the support. Communicate well between the two of you should be fine vision wise. *- You want your ADC to step forward with you to ward this bush preferably with in their own attack range so you can turn on a target in lane easily if they try to stop you.

Warding for support and ADC:

  1. Keep the bottom half of the river warded Blue side- Ward the tribush (Pink it if you are pushed up), and try to get wards by dragon/minibush in the river. Red side- Ward the mini bush in the river(Try to pink this one), try to push a sight ward in the tribush. 2*. Laning wards. You want to ward the bushes in lane with a sight ward. Being pushed in- (The wave is constantly hitting your tower): Ward the closest lane bush you can without being hit by skill shots Pushing into the tower- Ward the river, and take tribush control.

Key for top lane (lane phase):

  • Typically I go for invasive wards once I see the enemy jungler on the bottom half of the map if I am winning my lane top, and I cannot dive the enemy safely.
  1. Depending on the side: Blue- Ward the tribush as well as riverbush Red- Ward the river bush as well as tribush 2*. Depending on the side, when winning: Blue side: Ward the wraith camp, and the bush in front of red buff (To the right of it on the screen, above wraith bush) and directly above red buff. Red side: Ward around the enemy blue buff (The wolf camp ward is decent, ward in the bush at the blue buff as well as the bush behind wolf camp)
  2. Depending on the side when losing: Blue side: Ward around the your blue buff (The wolf camp ward is decent, ward in the bush at the blue buff as well as the bush behind wolf camp) Red Side: Ward the wraith camp, and the bush in front of red buff (To the right of it on the screen, above wraith bush) and directly above red buff.

Why do these wards matter?

  1. PICKS! If these wards are on the map, and you are proficient with minion kills it makes the jungler's life a bit easier. It also makes picks a lot easier (Enemy may lack wards and then they run into you resulting in you getting a free kill)
  2. TOWERS! If you follow the warding steps for mid laners and junglers when you are pushing an enemy tower on the same side of the map as the buffs, you won't get flanked very easily, and you can collapse much easier.
  3. LIVES! You will probably get killed less by a jungler if you know where they are at all times. It also comes with map awareness, but actually seeing the jungler on the map before they ganks helps a lot.

I was going to rant about being flamed in a game for KSing despite doing the most damage in the game(on my team), but I got distracted with a better purpose. The match history is great. Warding is important because it helps you win games far easier than without them when the game is even. I don't know if there are many guides on the forums or boards for this but I think it'll help some.

TL;DR: Warding around what you want to protect/take is way easier as a team effort.
