How did Gnar get a crit?

Just finished a game and was looking over the stats. Gnar got a critical strike for 491, but he didn't have any crit runes or items. Can someone explain this to me?

If his Ult knocks someone into a wall it deals 150% damage, which is counted as a crit. The center of Soraka's Q and Anivia's E on a frosted target also do bonus damage that is counted as a crit.
He could have also just had a crit chance rune?
I keep two in all of my pages for 2% crit chance and I get at least one crit every game if not multiple it's an extremely good thing to have because one lucky crit can win you a trade at level 2 by miles
