Would a team builder(ish) idea work for ranked play?

I know this has been discussed many times before but wouldn't a Partly similar "team builder" work perfectly for ranked play?

My thoughts were maybe u have a list of roles and u check which ones u want to do so that way u don't have to wait ages on a support. maybe I main top but I could probably do support or mid as well, or all but ADC(in my case).

Basically u choose your Role but not your champion so u can still counter pick and talk to teammates about strategy.

What are your opinions on this?
