Matchmaking.

Would love to discuss how horribly designed matchmaking is right now.

I am currently gold 2, 1 win shy of a series, and i do have to say... What the fuck? This is near plat elo, supposedly the top 10% in my region, and i still see trolls. Like im not even complaining about feeders, its people legitimately trolling, and doing things that they know that they SHOULD NOT do. Before you walk away, dislike, and ignore the fundamental facts that i am about to mention, please keep reading.

~ The Matchmaking System ~ Riot's matchmaking system pits together 10 players with similar MMR to play against each other. This is good, this is great matchmaking. But wait, this is Riot Games we are speaking about... How could they fuck this up? Well, instead of keeping it at a system that pits people of equal rank at each other, they decided to have win rates average out to 50%. Yes, you heard me right. This means if i have a 45% win rate, i am more likely to be teamed with people who have a 55% win rate to average me out to a 50% win rate, vice versa. So by this logic, you can play enough ranked games to make it statistically impossible to not climb. Which is funny say the least because you have people trapped below gold... a testimate to how bad those players are. But anyways, back to the main topic. Because of this system, people in high gold to low plat are playing as if they are silver. You then have these same players playing with people who actually belong in their elo, or are boosting past it all carrying them, or entirely shit stomping them. Anyone who is actually good, and can see constant mistakes of these players will agree with me if they play in this elo that, it is disgusting.

~ The Reporting System ~ Another factor that contributes to this... surprisingly could be the reporting system. Anyone who has played the game long enough, and actually typed any form of criticism or words that are words that you would greet your 7 year old daughter with have been banned. Riot has done well enough to brainwash a community to believing that if they do not agree with the words, to just call it toxic and ignore all forms of logic (ignore how society influences how people easily pick this horse shit up). The result of this is that good players will be matched with players inherently worse than them, and are more likely to flame the lower winrate players they are FORCED to carry. These players, because they said anything other than the ray of sunshine that riot expects every robot they have playing their game to emit, they get immediately banned. Some of these players then quit playing league all together, and now you just lost another good player making an elo good. You do this enough, and now you only have low winrate players left, until eventually... high gold and low plat is basically silver.

~ How to Fix This ~ The best possible solution currently is just to let it be until season 8. The overwhelming "toxicity" and backlash of changing a matchmaking system from what it is currently to something that actually works would have horrible ramifications. Some of these being people not playing because they now know that they got boosted to the elo they are in, and are scared to drop... and you know if you are going to lose, why play? Another reason being how riot takes literally 10 years to do the simplest of tasks, but then boasts about how amazing it is when it is still shit. Insert a replay system here (btw they stole the programming from other people, and embedded it in a new client to save money). But before season 8 hits, riot needs to remove the percentage winrate balance in matchmaking because of aforementioned reasons. We as a community need to LEARN when to report people, and LEARN what actual toxicity is. Saying ff @ 20 because we are 0-20 and lost an inhibitor is not toxic, its just people not wanting to waste their time. People need to LEARN how to use the mute features riot has given us, and not let these people influence us if we are going to be triggered little bitches in game. The mentality "Mute, Report, Move on" Is a huge issue with today's community.
