Katarina Easy? o.o

I love Kata Katarina , she was the last drop that made me give that "League of Legends" a try (cinematics). After i tried to play her a few games, i realised that i struggle with her more then with any other champ, and at the same time i've seen countless vids calling her penta-queen and overall on easy side. Now after unlocking some champions with more complex mechanics like Yasuo, Bard and Illaoi i reeeeaaaally don't get it - why is Kata even considered easy?

What i can see is:

  • she is squishy and needs to melee, which means i need to be twice as careful with engages and escapes - no other assasin needs as much carefulness as her
  • her ult is rather too easy to break, and thus needs to be placed in some very special circumstances - else dead, as she's very vulnerable while doing it
  • overall, damage is pretty miserable, and she needs to "work" for a kill so much, it's unbelievable how much effort she needs to pull off anything

Anyone can please clarify this paradox? Maybe it's just the way i play? Second similar paradox is with Annie, thou this is another story....

She isn't easy to play, this is a misconception created by an angry community who thinks just because they hate getting killed by something, that makes it easy to play. They get in a game with some buddies, play Kat and get fed one game, and think that means she is easy. But in even gold+ she becomes nearly impossible to play well due to people being more aware of her kit and keeping CC on hand for her, building GA on squishies and destroying her early game to shut her down.

Katarina's 'combo' is fairly basic. But to pull it off effectively, consistently, requires a lot of strategy and thought.

You can quite clearly see I play Shyvana, Malzahar, Ashe, Teemo, Riven, Sona, Lux and Soraka. I have almost no games on Katarina. But all I know, is out of that 250% AP Ratio, she only ever gets off about 1 tick before somebody CCs her. 90% of the time. I'm just not a narrow minded rager, who is mad because I went with a no CC mid and then got wrecked when Katarina combo'd me.

Katarina is like Master Yi in a sense. Under certain team comps, both can absolutely obliterate an entire team with little effort, while under others, they can easily be denied and become useless.

Kit-wise, she's easy to pick up and learn. It's certain matchups and team comps that make her hard. I mean, she's one of the most easily counterable champions when it comes to laning and disables/reset denies are her worst nightmare. Plus, she needs a team that can set up targets for her. All in all, I feel she isn't very challenging, which is why I stopped maining her after about lvl 25. But she performs really good in low elo, because people don't know how to counter her properly.

"damage is miserable"

lel. No. She's my most played champion, and I can assure you: damages are all but miserable. What about an ultimate that can deal, with appropriate runes & stuff, until 5000 damages to three champions at a time?

Nah she's easy.

Mechanically, she is one of the easiest champions in the game. All you need to do is to know when to go in,and when out, players overestimate her damage and underestimate the enemy's ability to react,so they go in for disadvantageous trade
