If I can't queue for ranked with them, I shouldn't get matched against them
Title.
This was Draft Pick and not ranked, but I still feel like this shouldn't happen. The entire team is obviously so far above us, yet this happened. Also, op.gg doesn't show this, but they were a 5-man premade while our team was 2 duos and myself. However I don't think that part is nearly as important.
I'm not a huge fan of making posts like this. I've played for years and there have been plenty of times where I was annoyed with the state of the game or a specific champion, but I understand that those are a side-effect of there being so many elements to balance. This is a different case. This was a situation that is not excusable by any metric. I am, at best, an average player in Silver 3. I should not be put against a team of diamonds and plats, even in an unranked environment. The entire point of limiting who players can queue with in ranked is to avoid having one or two players one one team completely outclass the others in the game. I know that this limit doesn't exist for draft pick, which would be fine most of the time; the matchmaking system has to find a happy medium when two people queuing together are at different ranks, and it usually does that well. This, again, was a completely different situation. Their lowest rank was Gold 4, which was our highest.
My only assumption is that this was because of some system to decrease queue time at the cost of matchmaking. I'm not an entire collection of market research, but I will say that I am more than willing to wait 3-5 minutes to get into a game if it means that game is balanced.
Other than that I'm pretty satisfied. Genuine thanks Riot for the rest of your work, but this is gonna tilt me into next week.
