I am on a 14 game losing streak in ranked and back into silver now after last patch. My idea of a balanced Moba comes down to a simple scale. On one side you have tank champions with high health and low damage and on the other low health with high burst/sustain damage. Everything should more or less fall within that scale to stay balanced, however after the last patch its seems I have to play the champions I despise the most which is tanky champions that deal burst or high sustain damage and low cooldowns to the point of where balance seems thrown out the window completely.

I don't get it, champions that can have 3200+ life but can do just as much damage in burst or sustain as most other champions. I understand their is a bunch of holes in my logic but do you understand how entirely frustrating it is when you drop all abilities on a tankish champion and not only will they survive through it with more than half life left but they then kill you back in mere seconds? I know that every champion has its weaknesses but to me with the 1000+ games Ive played League always favors tanky dps champions and nothing I say in the forums, RL, in game, or after games will change it. I've spent far too much time and money to just give it up and go play Dota 2 or something, I've been playing Moba since Warcraft 3 mod and while I am by no means a pro player or extremely good... I would say that I have alot of experience and knowledge to what makes these games fun, competitive, and balanced.

As of the newer gimmicky champions and this "tankey dps > all" feeling is getting to me, I can't be the only one right? I've even seen Riven on a number of occasions get camped top and shes 0-6 then when mid and late game arrives, she then ends the game later at a 14-8...how is that possible? (that was rhetorical) And the same can be said for mostly all the tanky DPS champions.

Perhaps I'm an idiot and I need to just vent it out, but ffs with how many games under my belt why do I still feel this way about tanky DPS champs after so many games, patches, new champs, and years of MOBA experience? Zilean

Worst offenders imo: Aatrox Chogath Darius JarvanIV Hecarim Garen Mordekaiser Nasus Skarner Shyvana Sejuani Riven Rengar Renekton TahmKench Trundle Udyr Vi Volibear MonkeyKing Yasuo

Too Tanky AND too High damage/escapes. All I'm saying is pick on or the other, but you can not get both. And I say that knowing full well most people won't agree with me.

I understand that at higher ELO's everything is counter-able and any champion beatable but where talking about the 10% of the player base of the entire game, and I just want to see a better overall balance for the majority of players.

Aatrox isn't tanky (without items he's squishy as shit in fact). Riven is also not particularly tanky, though a good Riven can seem to be with her shield. Rengar is in a similar spot but it's a fairly simple matter to burst him down (it is a much less simple matter to not be burst down by him).

Yasuo is possibly the squishies fighter in the entire game, lol.

Kite, positioning, duelling, teamfights. The tanky dps champions excel in 1v1/small skirmishes scenarios which is what their kit is usually meant for. However in teamfights, they don't and shouldn't bring as much power. Why? Because imagine a situation where the frontline doesn't let the other frontline through. The tanky dps doesn't deal quite the same amount of DPS as his backline. The pure tank does deal close to no damage, but he tanks more. But he doesn't care, because the backline deals the damage for him. So if both hit each other, while getting hit by the backline, the tanky dps will die faster. Also, the tank has more utility and helps peeling against assassins/offensive bruisers and sometimes offer great initiation as well.

You will notice that usually heavy tanky DPS champions lack utility.

It's up to your playstyle. If you like to put pressure by grouping, with a cohesive teamfight comp, pick tanks+carries. If you're more into splitpushing, duelling pick a tanky dps. Note : some carries are pretty good in duelling as well (Riven Zed Vayne ) and I wouldn't put them in the category of tanky dps
