Taliyah was great midlaner back in season 7, then riot reworked some of her abilities and shifted her into a jungler, and she was a good jungler for a while, but where is she now? I genuinely haven’t seen anyone locking in taliyah in season 8 yet, i think making her Q and AOE again and making the necessary changes to bring her back in the midlane meta would be sweet. Just a thought.
Dynikus2 votesTaliyah is still a really strong midlaner. She's slowly gaining popularity in high elo again now that people are realizing how strong she actually still is. The problem is and always will be that low elo players suck at utilizing her kit properly. Q worked ground management, cast angle, and following your target, landing the delayed vector cast w, comboing E, roaming with her passive, and using her ult effectively while not screwing your teammates are all things that require more micro and macro skill than a lot of low elo players have.
Wild Geese1 votesShe's good and I like playing her but the Q not having aoe really makes your first few levels a bit of a challenge unless your opponent is really dumb (standing away from minions).
You can't harass much and you can't farm amazing either - well until she gets a few levels, since the Q scales up so much, gets a short cooldown and you have your other two spells..
I would gladly have her Q aoe back for pretty much any nerf, not just for the reasons I mentioned, it just doesn't feel as smooth to play her without it.. she was designed for that ability and it's so wonky not having it.

Taliyah is actually quite fine as a midlaner, while the AOE was nice on Q, its removal hasn't negatively impacted Mid Taliyah that much... just changes playstyle how u clear waves and makes u pay attention to how u battle and position. With Electrocute, the WE combo (paired with an auto or Q) absolutely chunks, easily deleting squishy champions if done properly. The Q does eventually scale to the point it can clear waves quite quickly, and her roams are still devastating af... it's just she can't really permashove with zero interaction anymore.
