Thresh hook hitbox????
So I thought I'd bring this up even though it may have been before, but seriously what is that hitbox. It just latched onto me from so far away,,,

On reddit a few months ago there was a post by a high rank Thresh main that kinda explained it (it was a guide on using the hook).
The champ hitbox is actually larger than what we see graphically, mainly at the feet. It's the reason why a pro Thresh/Blitz can pull you from behind minions, because the champ hitbox extends beyond the minion hitbox.
So lets say you're standing in a horizontal line with a minion between you and Thresh. Thresh moves down a bit, and throws a hook at your feet. Because the minion hitbox is small, his hook passes by the minion, but it latches onto your champ, despite you graphically not being touched by the hook.
Same thing applies to Blitz hook.
Take this with a grain of salt since I'm not a Thresh player, I just remember how bullshit the hook mechanic is.

tbh they should probably just work on a new Q from the bottom up that functions the same as the old one but isn't as ridiculous.
Thresh hook, along with alot of other skillshots, have had broken hitboxes for years, but its generally just an accepted thing that Riot hasn't shown any intention of fixing.
Its neither lag nor hacks or 3rd party clients. Its just his hit box is broken and need to be patched same with blitz Q but not as much.
They ninja buffed it so more people will get the new skin

i W'd as le blanc the other night in a ranks just before it connected W was off CD so i W'd over a wall hook snapped to me from my original W position, i wish i recorded it but sadly did not.
in-fact i've been watching my own replays lately when i finish work i will check to see if i can find it.
also if you try to ''thread the needle'' it snap-hooks to minions too i think it drastically needs to be looked at, i don't seem to have this problem with blitz's hook when i face it, i don't face many blitz's admittedly though.
Where it decided to jump to you was pretty bad. But if you look at your still screenshot, it would have hit you. I guess what happened is that it had some form of pre-determined jumping. So hitboxes are actually put into ovals. So all that needs to happen is the hitboxes of both the skill and the unit (in this case it's Death Sentence into a Champion), the actual animation doesn't need to hit. So it just landed on you like. 0.something seconds sooner. You were going to get hit by the hook anyways.
