balancing ? rework? confusion? or duplicity?
I really wish I had some clue of where riot is going with things. what they say and what they are doing don't seem any way connected. I have seen several really awful champion reworks come about recently and the only reason i say they are awful is because they had nothing to do with balance and update and everything to do with changing the way the champion plays. why not just make a new champion? why lie to us?
examples.... cassio , yes cassio ..... instead of doing the updates and fixes needed to her (behind the scenes stuff) , we got a total remap that pushed all her power into her twin fang. the reasoning? no idea , we have gotten more misinformation here then anywhere. should have been .... 1) corrected for backend issues (twinfang timer etc) 2) altered Q and W to include AP ratios into the movement mods. 3) changes to AP ratios based on ranks in the skill. instead we effectively got a whole new champ. this kinda of thing should have came with a blanket refund but was intended to be more as a bait and switch money grab (i feel anyway).
katarina is facing some major changes. personally i like to call this new girl kate (she's kat's disturbed sister). kate wont play like kat , kate is more a fan of her W , a kill that runs off of AD on an AP champ. then again , i think kate is a bit schitzo.
itemization : not sure i understand the removal of DFG . it was the only item with high ap and some cdr. it had an active that increased burst damage (which given the current meta is all about burst?) ... instead of removing it , the active should have been changed or tweaked. removal of an item like this shows more a lack of thought and a kneejerk reaction. remove instead of adapt.
reds in the forums : the shark has been jumped. your proving time and again that the game is no longer about the player base and more about the devs specific style of play. when you do address issues you've proven to be more interested in forcing a playstyle then improving the game. the BULK of the red responses are to things that have nothing to do with gameplay.
most if not all the current champions are solid designs. yes you can see scope creep in new champions. but , honestly most of the fixes can be simple simple line item numbers fixes.
AND hold off the nerfs and start buffing crap champions.
examples ..... the mana fixes your done lately are horrendous. i hate that every champ needs a mana gem at level 1 just to be able to cast more then 3 spells. rework all the champs with slows to scale based on ap/ad (see janna for example). fix the dash mechanics ( currently you can still dash while stunned) some champs can use minor tweaks .... anivia needs more range on her ult ammumu needs the damage reduction amount increased to it scales
jungle : whew the errors here can go on and on and on..... yay , you can get a stun on the 4th or 5th hit .... umm .... should be 2-3 if you are meant to gank. poison buff you get scales horridly all in all .... early , you end up with a duo fight (red/blue) then solo camps .... then you move to duo the dragon .... then a group camp at baron. the fact that each camp does something is nice. given the makeup of the jungle monsters , why not change it up a bit. you have tank , burst , and sustain champs in the jungle. why not tailor some of them more to work with the archtypes. change the xp calcs and rewards for some to encourage the lanes assisting the jungle.
summoner spells : love the smite changes keep it up. can you fix the others though? please make heal so it heals more then 1 shot from an adc or more then 1 spell from an apc? how about finding a way to tie in clairvoyance to the wards?
