Can someone please be so kind as to provide me with counsel on how to improve my play?

I've been playing League of Legends since Season III or IV, I started playing ranked in Season IV. For two Seasons I was playing mostly mid lane with Swain, Vlad, Xerath and Lux. I had a lot of success on these champions yet I never managed to rise above Silver I. In Season VI I didn't play much and you can say I resume playing ranked this Season. I landed in low Bronze and have a lot of problems climbing out. I've been experimenting a bit with top and bot lane, but it seems AP mages are still my strongest side. However I struggle immensely with trying to do basically anything with most of the teams I'm getting. I've read quite a bit on many of the forums and the general consensus is that it's my fault rather than the team and so on, thus I would be really happy with some tips on what can I do if one or two of my teammates completely refuses to cooperate. Let's put aside the games where all or most of my lanes are doing well, because I rarely lose these and even if I do, it's pretty obvious that it's because of my own bad decision making or sloppy play, or simply because the other team is better. That I am completely fine with, as it's pretty obvious that you cannot win all games and that sometimes you just get beaten. But what can I do if for example I have a jungle Xin who builds damage only and charges into the enemy team alone dying instantly? Or when my marksman decides that the support is bad and after exchanging some random poorly phrased insults at eachother the marksman proceeds to go 0/15 or something of the sort. What can I do to win these games? Is there some secret method I'm missing? Communication is pointless. when I try to suggest something I usually get "stfu", "noob", "kys" or something of this sort as a reply. Pings are also ignored as I noticed. So what else can be done? Another thing that I completely misunderstand is why so many people go into ranked queues and then refuses to accept the prompt. I often have to accept 4-7 prompts before I actually get into champion select and even then often people immediately start to insult eachother or quit or don't lock. And why do people quit in the middle of the match? That's another thing that I don't really understand. While I might be playing for relatively long time over these few years, I'm far from being anywhere near professional level player. I'd consider myself more of a random casual, so please, I would really be grateful for your advice since most of you are much higher ranked and a large group also plays for much longer than I do.

Sorry for the word soup and thanks in advance for your answers.

Yeah, I probably should have used it.

But I did apologise for the word soup.

I'm really sorry for your eyes if you've went through all of that.

Well, I'm not sure what else can I say? I just need some advice on how to win a game when you are playing a 3 vs 5, because one of your laners prefers to dance in base or something of the sort. What's the secret to magically winning these games or at least some of them?

The reason why you were most likely downvoted is because you didn't keep your post small and broad.

Imma make you all you need to post to grab the answers you want below:

Hello everyone. I was hoping I could grab some advice on [INSERT PHASE OF GAME(laning, lategame, teamfights, etc) ]

If you could help me out, that'd be great.

Thank you all!!!!

above is all you need to post to learn what you want to learn.

Getting into a 3v5 is almost always an instant loss. The only situation in which a 3v5 is NOT an instant loss is if the enemy team has two people that are useless in whatever phase of the game you are in, or if someone on your team is super fed AND one of these champs: Talon Katarina Kayle Vayne Annie Ashe Azir Brand Ekko Evelynn Illaoi Hecarim Graves Fizz Garen Ezreal Jax Jhin Jinx Katarina LeeSin Kled Kennen Lux Lucian Nocturne Morgana MasterYi Riven Ryze Renekton Rengar Quinn Poppy Orianna Shyvana Sona Syndra Varus Yorick Yasuo XinZhao Xerath MonkeyKing Viktor Vi Veigar Velkoz or Teemo

In the unfortunate event in which you aren't in any of the described situations, you are looking at a lost game(assuming you are in the 3 of the 3v5).

EDIT: fixed some typos

Well, I just played a game as Xerath. While I didn't play as good as I usually do with him I was 15/2/9 by the end. Yet still no matter what I tried, out support Lux and top Xin Zhao kept running into the enemy team without any consideration. Here you can see the final scoreboards...

What can I do in a game like this? I was the only one on my team doing moderately well, but it didn't matter in the end.

Someone on your team does not include you in the situation I proposed

You need at least TWO people to be fed/ahead to have a good chance of winning if the other three players aren't as good.

You also need to try and HELP the not as good players either in advice( don't you dare spam "ENEMY MISSING" pings) or in getting them so fed that they can't possibly mess up. Ex: whenever I get autofilled to support I either play Braum Alistar or Taric because all three have such delays in their CC that it will be rare if you get an adc that messes up your engages

Sure you might die but you'll get your Vayne fed 10/2 by the end of laning phase.

Tradeoffs like that are ones that will win you the game(other /situations are common too however)

Oh, well... that changes things. Well if there is at least one person other than me that is doing well, then I almost never lose such games. It's sometimes hard for us to wrap it up, but in the end we usually do.

What is problematic is that when 4 people on my team do absolutely horrible or 3 do absolutely horrible and 1 does somewhat okay, and I don't mean bad laning phases here. Because bad laning phase is something that can be worked over. I recantly had a game when my team started 0/10, but we did come back, because at least 3 people were really trying and 1 was somewhat trying.

What I would like to know is how to win games when I'm the only one trying to do anything and the rest of my team is 0/7, 0/5, 0/15, maybe one or two people goes 4/8 or something of the sort.

I suppose the biggest problem is that as far as I noticed, people just feed WAY too much and constantly. I mean... come on. If you lost in lane against your opponent in a 1v1 by a landslide, then why the fuck would you even think about reengaging right after you respawned and got back to lane?

Also, another thing I don't get is building no defensive stats whatsoever. While I understand YOLO damage builds on champions like Xerath, Lux, Caitlyn, etc. I completely cannot understand them on champions like Xin Zhao, Jarvan, Darius, Garen, Rengar, Lee Sin and so on.

Sorry for complaining again. It's a bit too late in here, I guess. yawns apologetically

It's never too late fam!!! as for lanes that end up going 0/4 and upwards, your only option if EVERYONE is going like that is to roam mid/botlane and kill enemy laner. Even if you are behind, you have a chance of getting your laner back into the game instead of waiting for your Garen jungle to gank.

I've given you about all the tools you'd need to win games(theoretically of course).

All I can give you now is luck.

Good luck in the rift, my friend.

Depends what you mean by 'running into the enemy team'. If you mean they kept overextending and getting picked off, then it sounds like you need to establish proper vision control so that they enemy team isn't always popping out at you and your team from fog of war. It only takes 2 or 3 vision wards and maybe a single pink to have near perfect practical information on enemy movement in a section of the map - and by a section I mean one of the four jungle quadrants (top and bot side of each teams jungle) or dragon/baron pit.

A single person is well within their abilities on a single trip from base to establish vision control of a section of the map, even without being a support - and even without spending 75 on a pink because of income or item slots you can still get significant vision just with yellow trinket. If you establish proper vision of the section of the map your enemy will have to pass through to engage on your team in the position you are chosing to take (generally in preperation for contesting an objective) then the chances of your teamates getting picked off are drastically lowered, and in all likelyhood you as a a fed carry will be able to capitalize on the enemy team blowing cooldowns on your weaker allies if they do get initiated on since they won't be able to use those cooldowns against you personally for a while.

If by 'running into the enemy team' you mean they chase for kills and get caught or something similar, then you can take that into account and use that distraction to take an objective while they are getting collapsed on.

I could keep going. The point is there is always something you can do to improve your odds and get the most value out of a situation. It doesn't mean you will win, as even challenger players lose almost half of their games. Just accept that you are going to lose about half of your games no matter what on average and only look to improve your own play over time.

I mean going ham in 1 vs 5 despite all enemy team being in vision, without any consideration for anything while your own team is either too far to do anything about it or trying to take an objective or anything else for that matter.

That's a different server, and in case you didn't notice - the guy typed his username without a capital letter.

I never played on North America. Just EUNE. Other Aetherials are not me. xD
