What League of Legends needs is added Skin attributes...

I have been playing League of Legends for about a whole year now after having played a mobile MOBA called MOBA Legends. One characteristic about Mobile Legends that I really loved (and wished League of Legends incorporated) was the attributes associated with hero skins. For instance, one particular hero may have a skin available for purchase that attributed a +100HP stat, another +? armor, another atk/spd, etc. Now I understand that Runes was one of the reason that this wasn't done, but now with the advent of Runes Reforged that opens the possibility of giving skins some extra oomph in the absence of the old Runes system.

Another thing to think about, is thematic skins like Battlecast Kog' Maw or Battlecast Urgot an added armor attribute. Or Battle Boss Veigar, Battle Boss, Malzahar, etc could have extra AP attribute. You can even give skins more than one attributes as well.

Now, I love the skins available on League of Legends. I think Riot does a very good job with the art and aesthetic direction of their champions. However, aside from just being something nice to look at, the skins on LoL don't offer anything else of substantial value. So I want to suggest that League of Legends consider adding attributes/stats to the skins that we invest our time, money and effort into.

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

NO

that would make League of legends a PAY TO WIN GAME....

that is what a skin is supposed to be.

I obviously didn't think this one through very well since I left out the core game play mechanic of League. That is, it is Free to Play and not Pay to Win. You guys made a very valid point, League should not be centered on a "Pay to Win" model. Even after posting this I thought to myself, yeah that wouldn't work competitively or game play wise. I didn't even consider "Pay to Win" cause I garnered most all my skins through grinding. I wasn't even thinking, "Hey Riot, you guys can make a ton of money from this idea!". Just thought it was funny to play Battlecast Kog' Maw yet be extremely squishy (should make a Battlecast Rune Page).

I definitely would not keep playing if this was what it came to, as I have garnered many skins from hours of game play myself.

Besides it being against riots revenue model (which is basically the poster child of how to do microtransactions right), I'm pretty sure that game is itself among a number of league copyright infringing games that theres been legal kerfluffle about if you dig into it.

I reckon most league players are against pay to win models, but I feel like even those who aren't shouldn't be supporting intellectual theft.

Except here's the thing, you DON'T invest any time or effort into skins... just money...

By doing this, you're turning what's supposed to be purely cosmetic part of the game THAT NO ONE FORCES YOU TO CHURN ANY MONEY AT into another stupid Pay-to-Win model that a vast majority of League players would clearly hate...

Sounds ~~shitty ~~ great, but I think we need to throw in some DLC as well. Think about how much more fun you would have if you could only attack jungle camps if you had the jungler package. Oh but river monsters are sold separately because lanners might want to throw some DPS in as well. Also I'm shure everybody is sick of seeing people insta lock champions so lets get rid of the ability to unlock champions for free and make them only RP content, as everybody knows if people pay money they become better at a champion due to having a financial investment in them.

Sarcasm aside, This was not done in league because riot did not want to make it pay to win. Its not that runes accomplished this or where ever a replacement. the two things are completely unrelated. Riot makes effort to keep league f2p and built it for that. Sorry for any salt, its not personal I'm just bitter as all hell tonight about Shadows of War loot boxes and dlc bs.

That would turn league into Pay to Win, which is has never been and will never be.
