HONESTLY FEEL LIKE SOME PLAYERS GIVE UP WAY TOO FAST

Legit i feel like they have so much pride that if they die at least twice before 20min mark they will afk, int or cry about every little thing that the others "COULD" of done.

if the game is 25 to 4 and enemy is in your base by 20 mins, yeah its time to give up

if a extremely high win rate champion is 8/0 by 20 mins it "maybe" time to give up

if you are 0/2 but the team is up in kills and towers and dragons its not time to give up, its time for you to start playing more and complaining less

tl;dr. its one thing if whole team is far behind, another if you are salty because you played bad and blame others

When your ADC dies twice, "I'm done".

webstar19953/28/2018, 3:34:24 PM12 votes

Especially in lower elo. NEVER give up. People throw so much.

Honeydew Zekling3/28/2018, 3:14:51 PM5 votes

It's this or decide not to listen and throw games. Me: Hey, look out, you're like 10hp. You should back right now while it's safe -2 minutes go by- Me: Please go back, you're still at 10hp and if they hit you once you're dead Them: -dies-

OR

Me: Hey guys, lets not engage right now, we're in a bad position and don't have player X -2-3 players engage one by one anyways- Me: Lets not do that again and try to get a good teamfight in -same players continue to do this for 20 minutes-

To be fair, these situations are communicated via pings as it's in the moment. Still, the level of anxiety you get when your ADC stays in lane for minutes at a time with no HP is exhausting.

Oleandervine3/28/2018, 3:34:22 PM5 votes

Here's the thing. If you team is doing badly, they will probably continue to do badly, and the opponents will only continue to stack up the kills. If players on your team have given up and thrown in the towel, it's game over. What I don't understand is why 1 or 2 people, knowing that parts of their team have already abandoned ship, continue to propagate a losing game. You're wasting your time and everyone else's if you don't surrender and continue to drag people through the motions of a game that in their mind is already gone. They won't get better, they won't try harder, they'll just do what they can to not get a leaverbuster and that's it.

epic dude26113/28/2018, 3:58:23 PM5 votes

I understand why people want to give up, it is their time after all and if they feel like they are wasting it then I guess so HOWEVER it is rather selfish to give up IF someone is doing well and wants to carry on. If someone has done well , won their lane etc. And all you`ve done is feed your ass off then the least you could do is let help them and continue playing rather than failing them again

yesterday the enemy akali died once to my viktor and she left and gave up. This was like 6ish minutes in

Jofeyy3/28/2018, 4:59:19 PM4 votes

Its really pathetic tbh

HungryAngry2SPP3/28/2018, 10:09:32 PM3 votes

It's not pride, this is MADNESS

Jaygo413/30/2018, 1:29:11 AM2 votes

Nobody wants to fight for their right to party anymore. Everyone gives up too early.

EVERYONE is an ape. They can throw. At least test the unlikely waters... you'll find you'll win games sometimes that seemed extremely unlikely.

Raiyza3/28/2018, 4:25:57 PM2 votes

Sometimes its not worth it to continue playing a loss. Id rather start a new game and try for a win with more time to spare.

Id rather not continue playing with a moron jungler that is 4 levels behind because he has no idea what objectives are.

5050BS3/28/2018, 10:47:32 PM2 votes

When this happens over and over then its because they feel defeated. It does suck that when in LOW ELO if you make once mistake its over.

I can see that at challenger level yes one mistake can be a loss, but at LOW ELO should not be this unforgiving.

NodaYame1273/28/2018, 7:56:36 PM1 votes

My mentality is that: If I end up dying a few times due to mistakes or whatever and I don't think we can win (After looking over all the lanes and the junglers) I propose a surrender. If it is that the rest of the team doesn't think the surrender is necessary and we can still pull through then I stay and I try my best to help my team and ride this one out because I login to this game of legends every time to play it, I didn't login to whine a billion times like a child and then smash my keyboard trying to type words to people thinking it will affect them.

I don't know... what I'm trying to say is Don't just login to be an asshole. You can easily not bother with the game for a day if you've got your diapers in such a twist.

xPhantomDancerX3/28/2018, 8:07:14 PM1 votes

Top lane gives first blood, then feed over 5 kills in the first 5 minutes goes "Jungler never ganks".

Snowman Arc3/28/2018, 8:11:58 PM1 votes

Honestly, it's just the nature of snowballing. Lately, games just snowball out of control to the point that a smart and experienced player can understand that it's out of their control to win.

LOSINGISMYPRIDE3/28/2018, 8:21:18 PM1 votes

well the reason why is that there are now two time you can ff so since there are many door to end the game they just dont care and dont want to waste time . Whose fault ? Community asking for a 15 min ff .

COULD&amp of done.

COULD HAVE ffs

NaturesMayhem3/28/2018, 9:52:06 PM1 votes

I can guess why, this season is snowball meta. After one death you can expect to lose lane. Even if you still have a chance, many people are probably already tilted from their last game and are becoming even more tilted imagining what the current one will become because of their lousy mistake. League is honestly a vicious cycle of self-criticism and tilt, it blows my mind that so many people continue to play and play despite the fact that many of them aren't even having fun.

rtbf2256182413/28/2018, 5:55:08 PM1 votes

Because damage creep is so extremely punishing, people have developed a warped perception of even the slightest mistakes being fatal, regardless that they're only Gold players or whatever.

A Dizzy Lulu3/28/2018, 4:55:32 PM1 votes

Going to concede here and say I've been a victim of acting like this myself sometimes, I guess I can put it this way:

When you die twice in rapid succession early on, it's ridiculously tilting and since you died twice, you're filled with nothing but negativity and lose hope so you just want to surrender as fast as you can, regardless of how early on it is. You also can't do anything since you're on the grey screen, so you just type crap to fill the time. It's flawed logic but mostly just due to emotion, all you can really do to go about it is stay positive because generally people who want to surrender ASAP will still at minimum try to win somewhat, no matter how tilted.

At least that's how it is with me specifically, and a problem I have in terms of behavior in game.

Circuitry3/28/2018, 11:55:50 PM1 votes

It is hard to say. Sure sometimes a guy goes on tilt and wants to quit when he probably shouldn't. However, for the most part Riot has turned League into an incredibly tilting game. I believe the majority of the blame for early surrenders and people giving up early rests with Riot's inability to create a game that is conducive to a positive in-game atmosphere. Furthermore, I believe this negativity can be directly correlated to lol's ever increasing snowballyness <- that's a word

Gød Gankplank3/29/2018, 12:24:08 AM1 votes

Most of the time people give up when your team doesn't do shit anymore. Jungler sits in jungle farming. ADC feeds their ass off. Mid is doing ok or feeds. Same with top. Those are my games and there is no point in trying when the whole team or most of the team is not trying. That's my logic. PS: Welcome to gold in NA

Thegreatxiu3/29/2018, 2:16:06 AM1 votes

I remember a game that our team gave up first blood on a lvl 1 invade. Our toplaner legit called gg and only did the bare minimum to not be considered afk/griefing. He legit int'd and made the game unwinnable. Despite my teams best efforts we lost, but what made the game unwinnable wasn't a lvl 1 invade getting the enemy team first blood, what made the game unwinnable was someone completely giving up trying to win the game less than two minutes into it.

VvVVvV3/29/2018, 2:23:24 AM1 votes

This is so true especially in low elo when you are getting people who dont usually play ranked. They dont even care about winning it seems.

It tilts me so much to see people think that kills is all that matters and even if our team has taken more enemy towers they just want to surrender because we are down 5 kills. And it especially tilts me when people say "its just a game, dont play so serious." like yeah, i know its a game, but ranked is a competitive mode, if you dont care wether you win or lose then stay in normals and quit outvoting me giving me auto losses just because you dont want to play the game anymore when the game is not really out of control yet.

ok rant over...thats been built up and this seemed like the best thread to get it out in. it happens too much.

Xonra3/29/2018, 5:47:43 AM1 votes

It's the biggest strength and weakness in ranked; people just want to win.

People will do the most derpy stuff that can end up as an awesome play just to win a game.

The problem is if they at any point get the tiniest bit discouraged they will just quit, because they want to win, but if for ANY reason they think they are't going to they just don't want to even try anymore.

It's the most toxic ass stuff and is becoming the new go to. It used to be trolls and afks were the bane of the ranked playerbase, but these days it is people that just get pouty and throw and in game tempter tantrum at the first sign of trouble.

Bumperlane3/29/2018, 6:34:25 AM1 votes

That's the nature of the game these days. Going down 2 deaths means you lose your lane 99% of the time.

GamingAleks3/29/2018, 7:56:41 AM1 votes

lol don't play ranked
