Ekko's Chronobreak seems confused

R: Chronobreak No Cost 90/80/70 sec Cooldown Makes Ekko invulnerable and untargetable, and teleports him back to wherever he was 4 seconds ago. Ekko heals himself for 100/150/200 + 20/25/30% (+0.06 AP?) of the damage taken over the last 4 seconds, and deals 200/350/500 (+1.3 AP) magic damage to all nearby enemies on arrival.

It's a escape tool that wants to help you reengage but demands that you don't actually use it as an escape if you want to get your full damage burst off. That identity issue combined with the prediction necessary to use this ability to its full effect just makes it seem weird - You have to not only predict where your enemy will be in 4 seconds but you have to actually have been in that place 4 seconds ago and be willing to go to that location without an effective escape tool still available to you.

It seems like this ability is trying to be very different things at the same time in a very confused way. I feel like it would be better as a personal escape + steroid(Movement speed and attack speed?) rather than escape + bomb. Maybe give it some charges to sell the feeling that you're actually retrying failed attempts at something and improving every time

I like it. You can use it as an escape, bu then you miss out on the damage. You can use it for damage and healing up from a fight, but then you don't have an escape. You have to predict whether you need an escape (is there jungler coming? Do they have ignite and their combo?) or if you can use it for the damage and heal.

Yup! Ability is strong, but one use mostly excludes the other so you can't abuse it, also this skill will be usefull for amushes.

Actually, you have a ghost of yourself that shows where you were 4 seconds ago, so no not really.

Many champions use ultimates to escape, Ahri being a prime example.

I think the difference between Ahri and Ekko is that Ahri can use her ult as an escape while ALSO getting her damage off much of the time. The damage component is also far more reliable and the mobility component is more versatile.

To be honest the damage component on Ekko's ult still looks pretty reliable. If they are anywhere near a radius of your ghost they don't really have a chance of getting out.

You have to set up that positioning 4 seconds in advance and your enemy has to be oblivious to what your ult does to just walk into that. Your best bet to use it effectively is if a fight breaks out and doesn't move around much in which case the mobility part of the ability just seems pointless and makes it feel like it's not a time travel ability at all.

It seems like this ability is trying to be very different things at the same time in a very confused way

its not like that the ability is meant to serwe ore than one purpose so it will fit more situations

in case of a prolonged fight its a nuke in case of ekko commiting to a fight/assasination its an escape

its just like any champion who has a mobility skill tied to damage, they can use it for damage or sheer mobility

also it mmight just be a precaution mechanic to ensure the skill is usefull, since enemies might just drag ekko where he was before and make him unable to escape

owerall i realy lowethe skill, ou say its confusing in use, becuase it kinda is, but that is what makes it great, since your own creativity can make such a tool do insane tricks

Rarely are the damage component and mobility component of abilities so explicitly counterproductive though. That's my main issue.

Usually damage is tied to gap-closing but Ekko doesn't seem like he'll be able to reliably pull off his damage as a gap closer unless the enemy lets him.

in this way this one is unique, by playng your cards good you should be able to get both off, or even something more

i cant say that it seems to be rahter hard in practical use but i certainly consider this a very unique and cool skill
