Hi everyone and those who wish to participate in my thoughts.

Just recently, I've gotten into Aurelion Sol. And I have so many questions about why he isnt as popular as he could possibly be?

I struggle with meelee assassins, of course, but couldn't there be another way to deal with this other than blasting your ult or flash to save yourself? Aurelion Sol has one of the lowest masteries among the list that we can see here the most being a little above 300,000 mastery points. I am concerned if this says something about the champion. Where the kit and tools that you can use is not up to par of what Aurelion Sol could be.

So wondering in the night before i fell asleep, what if Aurelion Sol could just be a bit.. more? What if champions such as Zed Talon Katarina came in a bit too close to stars and started to have a sunfire starfire item 3068 effect put upon them for being so close to a celestial being? I think it would help slightly to his problem. He simply cannot be put in a meta right now, it feels like. It feels like he needs so much more to even be viable. Dont get me wrong, I adore his damage on his w. His damage is very consistent.

Or maybe I'm just complaining too much to get a double tap on his q.

Sol is strong.

He's not popular because he's an AoE dps mage and that isn't very flashy and exciting to most players. Generally damage is AoE burst: you can frontload your damage to get big multikills Single target burst: assassinate a squishy target before they can respond Single target dps: you can melt any target given enough time and can either outduel or kite most champions until they die.

AoE dps doesn't really score a lot of kills, it doesn't have big surprising flashy plays, and you aren't really good at dueling. But you still get a ton of work done in a team fight as you just constantly chip down every target on the enemy team.

Karthus is in a similar position where he has a very high winrate as an AoE dps mage but still has a very low pick rate.

Unfortunally that is his intended weakness and it's not going to change.

Aurelion Sol is a team character, unless you are outskilling or countering your laner by a consistent margin you should just farm and roam when you have the chance. Once teamfights start you are a force to be reconned as your stars will be doing a lot of damage to multiple targets that must care about your team mates first. Your Q and R are awesome kill securer and perfect to be chained with a good initiator.
