SUPPORT PLAYER GETTING REWARDED WITH "S" FOR TAKING MOST OF ADC'S CS AND STEALING KILLS

I just played a game with a player that clearly did not wanted to play support (as said before game began during chat) he did not dodge he consider it was a good idea to just play support Riven get as most possible cs as he could without even trying to let the adc get some, he got some kills too, but we ended up losing among other reasons being one of them the fact that the adc had less CS than support. It is ok i dont have a problem with this I have seen it happen and since it was a normal game I let it slide. But what i can not let slide is the fact that said player gets rewarded an S as support for these two reasons: 1)Getting more cs than adc 2)Getting more kills than adc Now I know that coming up with ranking system to determine if a player gets an S or not is not an easy system to come up with, but I think at least to my concept of how support should be played that stealing CS and kills from adc should not be rewarded with an S ranking, thus encouraging other players playing support to do the same thing.

I am not sure of how to fix it myself and I really do not like complaining without giving a solution, maybe add an algorithm that counts the number of CS support has making the rank drop if said role got more CS than the adc.

I am just posting this here in case any of you guys had this happen to you as well and I am open to hear any other ideas we all can provide to riot so that this does not happen again.

Thank all for reading this!

Freddie.

Riot changed the rating system for supports a long time ago.

There is no difference between kills and assists for supports. I don't think CS is a major factor either.

You need like 100 cs on support to get an s on most supports.

I've gotten S-rank as a support many times with minimal CS.

Hell, I've gotten an S-rank for a 2/1/20 Janna game with 7 CS within the last week.

The only time I even bother last-hitting minions as a support are:

  • I have a stack of Relic Shield
  • My ADC isn't in lane
  • Pushing the minions for an objective

Honestly, minimizing deaths and helping take objectives seem to matter far more than CS.

As someone mentioned, the support role grading was changed awhile ago so kills are literally counted the same as assists for grading purposes, so 5/0/10 is exactly the same as 0/0/15 grading wise.

As for cs, that's harder to sort out, but as someone who mains support and gets their weekly S rank chest via support role, taking the adcs cs usually sets your adc behind and results in less opportunities to snowball and get tons of assists yourself, so probably not actually a good plan even in the selfish only-caring-about-s-grade case.

Something to consider: The amount of Support Rivens... Which is unbelievable miniscule or non-existent.

If you played VI Support you would be compared to other VI Supports. This is kinda the same case.
