Tank Katarina! Why Chain Vest?

So previously, i've posted information about rushing Armsguard into Sunfire Cape, against none armor shredding champions like, Zed, Talon, and so on, while the sustain is nice, I did find problems with the lack of damage. Luckily for me, a friend of mines, another Katarina main, brain stormed with me, well, mostly, him telling me his thought of what would be nice to rush or have.

Prior to the past data, instead of rushing Sunfire Cape, after buying Armsguard, one can buy Chain Vest, and rush into a Hextech Gunblade. You can buy Dorans Ring, against any matchup, but if you feel confident in killing your laner, such as, Veigar, you are free to take Long Sword. (Doran Ring, is not for all in, more of a trade, poke, and sustain, use your health pots wisely, don't use it when you are at 3/4 hp, in order to let the passive kick in.

One might ponder, what should I buy after Armsguard, a Chain Vest or a Bramble Vest? The answer is, it all depends if the laner you are facing off against, uses auto attack as their main source of damage or poke, or skill shots and none auto attack abilities.

I prefer to buy Armsguards into a (Chain Vest) against: Zed, Talon, Qiyana, Pyke , Kayn, Aatrox. {These are the reason why}

• Against (Zed players) I believe, their sole damage is landing their q [Razor Shuriken] , and e [ Shadow Slash]. Of course, I know they also use auto attacks, but their auto attacks, comes after using a ability or 2 which defeats the purpose of Bramble Vest. Zed, also has no armor pen, so his either force to go some Magic Resist, like Hexdrinker or Mercury's Treads. He could also go Armor penertration, but your goal is not to finish the item right away, once you Get Armsguard, Chain Vest, rush straight into Hextech Gunblade, and you'll be able to go toe to toe with Zed, as long as you play it smart, and hopefully, his not too fed.

• Against (Talon players) Talon, is scary to fight against, and his burst is quite overwhelming, when electrocute activates, your health bar vanishes. Your goal is to buy Doran Ring, and play safe at level 1 and farm, if he misses his w [Rake] you cannot freely walk up to cs, his q [Noxian Diplomancy] and auto attacks, are good enough to burst you down, but all of us slips up and make mistakes, if you get punished by his q [ Noxian Diplomancy] please do not be scared, be sure to auto attack him, shunpo and auto attack him if possible and walk away, your Doran ring will heal you up, if you play safe after that. Keep in mind, Talon, is not a over time fighter, he is a burst ad assasin, as long as you can live through the burst, you have a chance to burst him back.

• Against (Qiyana players) Honestly, you do not win this match up at all, unless they make the worse play possible, but she has no armor penetration abilities, and this build will force her to go armor penetration which I do not see most times rushed early game, against a Katarina. My tip on going in on her is, if she waste her q [ Elemental Wrath/ Edge of Ixtal] , but be aware, she will w [ Terrashape ] away from your dagger, and punish you for going on her. So if possible, keep track of her w usage, and if you really wanna all in her, your only high chance of winning is if you get level 2 before her.

• Against ( Pyke players ) You can out poke a Pyke, but in exchange, you mess up your wave, and he can heal it back up, basically, he has a better sustain than you, and not only that, his roaming potential, is far beyond yours. Pyke usually starts his q [ Bone Skewer] into e [Phantom Undertow] You can all in him level 2, but be sure to dodge his hook and e [Phantom Undertow] when he gets his w [Ghostwater Dive] setting up dagger combos on him, will be more of a challenge. On the bright side, he usually does not rushes armor penetration, and even if he does, you'll outburst him, by the time he finishes his items.

• Against (Kayn players) I heard some people does Kayn top, and I barely see any Kayn players, going mid lane, but if by chance you do meet him, here are tips against him. You destroy him in lane, although it is risky, you want to shove out your lane against him. He has horrible wave clear with auto alone, which forces him to use abilities like q [ Reaping Slash ] and w [ Blades Reach} but his w [ Blades Reach ] has a horrible damage early game. Keep in mind, formless Kayn, is a harmless Kayn, his only annoying ability will be e [ Shadow Steps ] but it is only if his near a wall running away, or engaging on you, with the help of a teammate. You force him to waste mana on wave, you crash the minions, under his turret, and by the time the wave comes neutral, you will have a few seconds to all in him, if he makes a mistake by walking up to you. You lose to him, late game, if he goes Red Kayn.

• Against ( Aatrox players) You can all in him, at level 2, dodge his q [ The Darkin Blade ] or catch him out when his q [ The Darkin Blade ] is on cooldown. You do not win trades against him, if he has all of his abilities, unless you are some God Tier player, and dodge everything he throws at you, then go for it. Aatrox has no armor penetration, just life steal. I know he also uses auto attacks to trade with laners, and you might ask, why not get Bramble Vest? Since it also applies grevious wounds, for being auto attacked, the reason is simple, you can tank a few hits later on in the game, but his going to outlife steal your damage, and knock you up, messing up your combo. I prefer getting morellos, for the magic penetration, and it has grevious wounds, gives you health along with damage.

                                - For these match ups, I usually go Doran Ring, into Armsguard, and after that, I buy Chain Vest, and rush Hextech Gunblade, I know some of you Katarina players, love your movement speed, so I rush Ninja tabi, or Mercury Treads, depending on the enemy composition. If I am fed and can burst down my mid laner, I will get Sorc boots instead. After that, I buy stop watch, and an oblivion orb, finish my Zhonya, and go Void Staff, if I see too much magic resist. If I feel I can make a play and they don't have too much Magic Resist, I rush into a Zhonya, rather than buying void staff. 
  

[ Katarina ] Keep in mind, compared to other assasins, Katarina lacks in burst damage even when full ap, unless she has a snowball, or can land her dagger combo perfectly, early game. Your goal early game, is to cs, and roam, having that small sustain, will be very helpful later on in the run. There are many champions who can burst and land combos more easily than Katarina, such as, Zed, Leblanc, Fizz, Rengar, Talon, Qiyana, Neeko, Zoe, Velkoz, Kha'zix, Jayce, Wukong, Orianna, Karma, Lux, Cassiopeia, Heimerdinger, Kassadin, prior to level 6. I am not calling them broken, neither stronger than Katarina, I know some people would beg to differ in these champions i've brought up, and that is completely fine to me.

                                            I will go over what champions, one should buy Bramble Vest against, next time. To my fellow readers, this build nor pathing is not absolute, I know some will disagree, but this information, is soley for me, and if someone gives an idea or 2 in the comments, that would help me out a lot, thank you for your time.
