Is there a way to shorten your queue-times?

Well title says it all pretty much. A friend of mine told me that if you are in a long queue you want to reset the queue for some reasons. Is there any truth to this or is it simply just him being a liar?

Do anyone of you guys have another tip that might help me shorten my queue times? Currently average 15min queues.

Picking support, but I recommend that you don't do this, because odds are you'll end up being one of those shitters that queue support, and when they get it, they play the champion they would in another role, and either feed, or just fall off because supports have no gold income. Well, they do, but if you are one of these people, you won't have picked up a support item either.

So, in other words, if you can support correctly, please do queue as support to reduce your times. If you can't/won't/don't want to, please don't.

Play support.

Not sure if it still is true but there was a period where if you had a queue for 5+mins and restarted you would find a match instantly

Well, the easiest way to shorten it is to queue as/with a Support. While my wife was queuing support we rarely had waits longer than 15 seconds.

Other than that, I typically do what your friend suggests if the queue gets too long past the wait time. I had a few instances where it found a game very quickly after canceling and restarting the queue. It's not proof that it'll work for you, but it does tend to make things feel a little better.

Select support and fill.

I'm not sure the queue reset does anything. No one has shown any data showing its benefit.
