The thing is that it offers less damage for Kalista by a lot. Going from 114 on-hit (which applies on Runaan's) to 60 AD is a hard hit to Kalista since she doesn't have a lot of AD scaling in her kit, she doesn't build crit, and her auto attack has a 0.9 AD scaling, she is so fucked when the new season comes around, I won't be surprised if her win rate drops below 40%.
As someone who played Tristana pretty often, i do have hopes that with what should become a effective removal of rushing flat armor penetration in the bot lane should at least grant Tristana a better spot on the marksmen tier. Though i still feel just like how Ahri is currently, she is at least in need of better interaction elements such as things like AD scaling on her ultimate OR grant her measures to make it rewarding to build her with AP also besides flooding AP scaling on all her abilities but nothing to give decent synergy compared to other champions. It would be nice too if her ultimate was more expansive as a offensive tool by throwing a bomb in the air and then when it hits the ground it knocks back targets from the impact point and being a target'able skill shot instead of just knocking back so she can at least catch runners off guard then giving them a low damage 'free escape' if they are not on a sliver of health.
I have not played Kalista myself but i will admit even when i felt she was 'over powered' to some ends, she at least felt she was a bit fair in terms of her damage out put even before i read up her entire kit. Plus she at least couldn't blow you up in a instant while your at high health from a large distance or gap close easily (cough Ezreal, Miss Fortune, Draven, etc cough) with little trade back repercussions.
Very least for my favorite Yordle ADC bombardier, some things like critical hit interactions to maybe reduce her Q or E's cooldown or maybe apply two stacks on E bombs on crits would put her in a better spot to where enemies would think twice to try and 'melt her health' when she could blow you up immense'ly if she has been rush stacking E and gets away by getting a full +150% bonus damage 5 stack on you and even if you manage to get her to retreat or kill her, you're likely going to die and regret doing such, especially if Flat armor penetration isn't around to let you out trade with ease like it did in season 6. Because even if her W resetting on full stack E explosions and kills/assists, it is way too under'whelming' that it might as well be not as exciting as getting a penta kill with Tristana vs getting a penta kill with Katarina (namely both having 'ability reset mechanics').
