If you can only play one role, I can't have any pity for you. You should at least be competent in two roles, and passable in at least one other. I main jungle and support, but I adc just fine and I'm barely passable for a midlaner. Strive for something like that.
Troy2426211 votesI main the same roles, am a passable ADC and want nothing to do with top/mid, and I only run into issues with not getting role about once every 100 games. It's that rare.
Hell, I can usually rely on just jungle or support. The time it becomes a problem is when first, second and third pick can only play one role and they happen to be jungle, support and ADC mains. That's just not a common occurrence.
IcyPepper1 votesYou're telling me. I used to play Ahri and Fiora in my noob days, but then realized that everyone wanted mid and top. So I opted for learning how to support and jungle, then picked up adc as I realized that was the only role that didn't ward much (so I picked it up just to see if warding was an issue: turns out, buying wards doesn't impeded your build).
I never understood why mid and top get so much attention. Yeah, I get that top is an island and mid is great if you want kills, but I don't understand the purpose over the mentality. I see first picks lock in Katarina then get hard counter-picked, or top laners that never leave lane or take ignite instead of TP (nothing wrong with that) but blame the jungler if they lose lane and then never help their team.
The best advice I have for anyone is to at least know what each role and lane does, even if you aren't good at it. Top laners who jungle on occasion understand that top lane just can't be a priority at certain parts of the game (unless TP is involved, in which case it becomes an investment), adc players who understand different supporting styles, and so on.

Good. You shouldn't play ranked if you don't have atleast 1-2 champs per lane that you can play. And even if you can't, it's fine. But atleast have the decency to queue dodge whenever you are forced to go that one role you don't want (if there are multiple roles you don't want, then you probably better just don't play ranked as you'll lose too much LP to climb properly, although in the long run you'd still climb).
My advise: Just look for some easy to play high winrate champs. Champs with high winrate usually do well even if you don't play them at their full potential. You can play Janna for example and mess up a lot and still be useful. Of course you won't be near as useful as a Janna main, but a lot better than if you'd play Thresh or Bard with the same (low) amount of experience.
Note that if before the game starts, you predict that your winning chance is below 50%, you'd better queue dodge because you'll only lose LP that way and no MMR. MMR is what matters in the long run. Your LP will adjust to match your MMR but it takes time.

EDIT: just took a look at your op.gg profile. you have negative winrates and KDAs BELOW 2 on EVERY ONE OF YOUR MAIN CHAMPS except for 50% winrate on liss and 2.15 KDA on trist. seriously, no matter what you play you SUCK, even by bronze 5 standards. ill just assume this is an excuse for beeing bad though, so yea... just make up your mind

While I do agree with TombDragon (I upvoted the guy), if you do wanna be all Ryan Choi Jungle Main RENGAR ONLY, yeah it may be best to wait for team builder draft/ranked. I feel the same way. Just do reg. team builder til then, way more fun, way less stressful, and you get your role. <3
