In-game Overlay

If you ever want to see if a friend is on, but you're in game, what do you do? Want to check something out in the store while you're dead for a minute, what do you do? All these questions have at some point popped into my mind while playing League. There is no real way to see who is online at any given point during a game. It would be interesting to have some form of in-game overlay, such as Steam does or Overwolf, without having to install something that could affect the gameplay. Not everyone would probably want this feature, but there would always be a way to disable or enable the overlay in the settings.

I know that there's not too many details in this post, but it's an interesting idea to consider. Maybe if you have a technician Heimerdinger take a look at this idea, something awesome may come out of it! Its just an idea that I wanted to share. But, now i gotta dash summoner 4 , have a good one!

While I can see this being a bit useful, I think only the friends list or messaging aspect of it being practical. Being able to look in the store is kind of overkill, and I have a suspicion that it would be a monster to get to work. And realistically, if this was implemented, people would get side-tracked by it and it would probably take away from the experience as a whole.

So yeah, ONLY if it was JUST a friends list/messaging interface, and ONLY if it had pretty tight restrictions. (Like it not being usable in ranked games, or only when you're dead, or something)

When you're in game in the bottom right of your screen you can click on the RIOT symbol and it will bring up the window where you started your game. It will say "game in progress"(if i remember correctly) but you can check your friends list that way and chat with them. You can also chat with them with whispers. IMO if you're in a game, you should just be focusing on that instead of letting your mind wander, which is why I'm assuming these features were never implemented.
