Varus is insane

I played Aram alot these days, and I found out something. Varus Q is as hurt as lux ult. OK my bad, I checked the death recap, actually, it did much more damage than lux ult. The panel data of lux ult is about 400 + 100 or 150 before magic resist, and actually did like 350 dmg, while after like 40 or 50 armor, varus Q did more than 500 dmg on me and killed me. I tell you whats more, they have almost the same range! Do u need me to tell u the cool down differences? nice job riot. nice balance.

her ult is twice the range and his falls off when going through targets

did you see if he had stacked his passive on you or not?

ap varus can hit an entire team for 75% of their max health

varus isn't popular (well, as popular as other champs) because he doesn't hypercarry as easily

He's very popular as a poke mid-laner in competitive. He seems to be the go to choice now. In fact, Varus is preferred to AP Kog and other poke champions now in Korea and most other regions. He needs much less time to scale and has greater turret pushing ability.

Varus is an unseen threat that will catch you by surprise when you dont see it coming. His passive on his W is severely underrated if built AP, capable of chunking your health. Ive heard some people complain about Tahm Kench's max health % damage. They obviously have not seen a Varus. With just three basic attacks, like Kench, he is capable of dealing 15% of the target's maximum health plus 6% per 100 AP, usually ending up around a 36% bonus, giving him a 51% max health nuke on a single target. Not to mention each of the attacks applying the stacks will be dealing 25% of his ability power per attack, scaling to be around 150 magic damage, excluding base damage, with an average AP build late game. Then you have his ultimate that will just deal 350 magic damage plus 100% of his AP to the target it hits, and it is pretty hard to miss. Get lucky and it will spread to others nearby as well for AoE nuke damage.

However, you, the OP, are wrong in nearly every statement you have said.

I tell you whats more, they have almost the same range!

The biggest lie there. Varus' Q range is at maximum 1625. Ok thats long, but Lux's ultimate? 3350 range (3340 if you wanna be technical). Varus' ability is half the range.

The panel data of lux ult is about 400 + 100 or 150 before magic resist, and actually did like 350 dmg, while after like 40 or 50 armor, varus Q did more than 500 dmg on me and killed me.

First off, you arent considering his W passive most likely. Even if you did, which might invalidate this point entirely, you failed to consider if Lux has any items in this comparison since Varus obviously does. Varus' Q at maximum deals 235 (+160% AD) once fully charged to the first target it hits. At Level 18, this is 395 base damage to the first target hit, excluding armor. Ok, so now lets look to Lux. Lux's ultimate deals 300 base damage at level 1, scaling up to 500 at level 3. So it is already higher than Varus' Q. Since Varus' Q will reach max rank at Level 9, Lux's R will always have more damage than Varus' Q since at Level 9 Varus has 76 attack damage. 160% of that plus 235 gives you Varus' Q's damage at Level 9. This is excluding items for both Lux and Varus of course. Lux's R's damage only tips down below Varus' Q slightly between levels 9 and 10, excluding items. However, we have forgot an important details. Varus' Q's damage scales down the more enemies it hits and is a skill shot that also needs to be charged. Lux's R is a large, instant AoE after a short casting time that has no decaying damage between targets. Lux's R's cool down for an ultimate is also extremely low, being 80/65/50 seconds, in case you still aren't convinced.

I played Aram

And who can forget this one? This is the nail in the coffin. YOU CANT JUDGE BALANCE AT ALL BASED ON A GAME OF ARAM! Sure, maybe it shows who the game mode favors, but not individual champion balance.

Do u need me to tell u the cool down differences?

EDIT: Oh woops, I forgot one. This is also a false accusation for all the reasons above. Of course Varus' Q would have a lower cool down because it is in fact much weaker than a Lux ultimate. Not to mention, again, that Lux's ultimate's cool down is actually quite low for an ultimate.

I'm sorry, but your entire statement just doesn't add up to itself, ignoring all of the language errors as well. Please, stop to back up your information before clouding up our "as valuable as it can be" forum space with false accusations. Good day, or where I live, good night.

you mixed replies to me and the original poster so it's a little difficult to tell who you are talking to

also, my figures were based on a conversation I had with a varus player, so I didn't bother to check because as I stated (other than the additional detail by the post below you), varus is not that popular (of an ADC)
