I Want To Talk About Yorick

So i was playing yorick recently. just to try him. i observed alot of damage and sustain. i could rely on my sustain in a 1v1 and survive long enough in a teamfight. however i could not catch anyone or run if i didnt have the phage passive. with it i had to basically use my burst with my q and e on a minion then i could run towards them. it always caught them off guard. i am of course in bronze. someone talk with me about this.
