attack defense and all of that

Im relatively new and i want to learn more about ad/as/and ap how do I identify which champion is which as well as knowing what items to buy for them, so I can know when im at a disadvantage or something like that. Also how do I know which lane my champion should go as well as when I should take out the dragons and whats the purpose of doing so.Thanks
