So how do you deal with illaoi?

Illaoi is honestly the most frustrating champions to go against, to an extent I don't mind going against a Darius or a Pantheon, her extremely strong early game is making picking early game champions and trying to out trade her pre 6 useless. When she's 6 it's gg because you're going to be going back and forth to lane either because your dead or your alive with the sliver of health.

Illaoi can't be punished for cool downs unless you're a lvl 1 strong champion like a yasuo or a riven, but beyond that it's either her Q or her W over and over and over, even when you think you can engage for a short trade after she uses her E she'll wip her Q out or w because doging them is so fuckinnn hard, one is a point and click and the other has a huge fuckinnn hit box you need to rush swify boots to just walk side words before it hits.

I don't feel the champion is broken. Obviously she's a juggernaut it's like trying to fight Darius in lane. But it's just so frustrating when you need to keep everything in mind while going against her and she can win lane closing her eyes even if you dodge everything. She is the reason I ben her instead of a Janna or a Soraka every time (you know she's in the game for that one game I decide not to ban her)

So how do you deal with her, or just survive in lane? I tried counter picking her from the ones I saw on champ select. Com or other sites they show lulu, Kindred, sion and nasus winning against her and riven yasuo Quinn and jayce loosing to her lol. And I know first hand because I play tank top lane, sion or even fucking nasus gets destroyed post 6 or with a gank.

So yeah how do you win her in lane? Or at least survive? How to counter pick against her? Just in lane I mean. Considering I might not always get a gank because she's illaoi

not even true, illaoi is garbage pre-3 and weak until lvl 6

yes she can? if she misses her E then you should never be losing the trade after that unless you're standing still in a nest, in which case you're playing like an ape

the counterplay to illaoi is this simple:

- dont fight her in her tentacles if you aren't fast/mobile enough to juke them

  • dont let her set up tentacles for free
  • dont take tentacles when you don't need to; you set yourself up to get hit for doing this, and sometimes you let illaoi set up a better tentacle
  • bait her important CDs (E and R) and she's free gold/forced to flash away from the fight
  • dodge Q, dodge E

if she picks illaoi go darius she is not as mobile and Darius Q is very mobile. She depends on tentacles, kill them. Stand behind minions so she cannot E. you can easily avoid Q.

They way to avoid Illaoi Q is as follows; plug mouse into USB Port, click away from the Q and W. Easiest way to avoid the W is to keep a zone and don;t go past it unless you want to trade. I have played allot of Illaoi and she is strong with the tentacles but if you play against her treat her like you would Blits/Naut/Thresh etc, and stand behind your minions.

When she comes in to get a minion trade.

The rest is ez, she is not as strong if you jump onto her, if your Jax, Q onto her beat her a bit and jump out before she can do anything about it. Same if your Panth, or Renekton. If your Nasus Slow her drop a E and move around her while hitting her and Q her and then go out.

That is how you trade with illaoi, make sure tentacles are down and that you have cleared the minion wave.
