Which better? Build Glasscannon or Tank to learning champs??

Ahoy guyz!

If i want to learn a champ, which type of build is better? You could say, often champs has a "core" build, and games not that long you can buy 5-6 items, most of the time just 2-3, before games ends. But nah.. Always there are more core items, and you can choose from them. 1 'must have' item max. (except very specific champs, maybe like adc's.)

So which better?

Like, now I try to learn Cassiopeia . For her, the two most popular core build: item 3285 , and item 3116 or item 3165 or item 3907

and a bit more scaling, less glasscannon: item 3003 and item 3027 etc..

So, what if I choose a way more tanky or dmg oriented build? (just while I learning the champ properly)

Why I think its (maybe) good for learning if you try way-out builds? Let's see my conclusion: If you build full dmg, its easier to deal dmg, even if you miss skillshots/ struggle at kiting. (A short story; when I learned Riven , I had a hard time, I often died, while tried to do laning phase/anything. So I changed my item 3071 item 3812 item 3026 core build into a less popular, glasscannon build: summoner 14 summoner 21 , item 3147 item 3142 item 3814 item 3095 (pre-reworked) item 3508 (pre-reworked) , and by this, even if I died 5 times at lane, I bought my item 3147 , and one-shotted my lane opponent(if was squishy) or a squishy target. It helped me to learn Riven a lot. but If you build full tank, its easier to lane, or even survive, enemies has harder time to punish your mistakes, bcs doesnt matter if you get hit by the full combo of enemy Zed , you have 1,5k more hp than you normally would had with 'normal' build. And easier to learn kiting, etc by this, (I guess) .. I think its similar for runes, but I take the popular ones, most of the time.

TL:DR: Which type of build makes easier to learn a champ: tankier than normal, or glasscannon??

PS: Sorry for my english ^^

Tanks means close to nothing atm. So glass cannon is almost always going to be the way to go.

I tried now a more dmg oriented build, I made more aggressive plays, bcs that I died a lot more, but seems better to me than the safer, tankier builds. thx ^^

Tanky gives you the option to play from behind better, and avoid feeding as hard which is good while you learn match ups and mechanics. Glass builds are win-harder.

It depends on the game and matchup. In the case of cases, if you are on a team that scales let it isn’t a bad thing to do the same. But if you’re on a team that is gonna snowball maybe do the one that has upfront damage instead of the scaling one. But for the most part looking at corenbuilds is most optimal because you learn their most common power spikes.

Hmm, that's right. But, at this example, Cassio has two core builds, and she has E max first and Q max first.. ahhhh Idk which to use...and power spikes... she is a scaling champ, ofc, that's okay.. BUT, she can be played at way aggressively, (like item 3285 instead of item 3003 item 3027 , and if I check high elo players, somebody play her at one way others at the other way, so its not rly match up depended.

I would say go with the earlier power spike (q max, Luden, etc) build first until the meta changes as a default. But always pay attention to your team comp and what you’re up against..

The tear and e build I would is something you want to do if you’re thinking “I just need to survive lane phase”

Resistances should be a situational buy, if at all. Damage is the main thing that matters these days, for every champion.

Relative to your champion's scalings, you can never go wrong building some combination of damage and CDR. If the item has defensive stats attached to it, all the better.
