Malzahar Mid - What am I lacking that kept me from getting an S?

I played Malzahar Mid which I understand is a common role and I understand that my grade is based on the comparison of myself to others in my region who played that same champion in that same role. However, I have 263 CS, I went 19/5/18, did 48,170 damage to champs, and placed 23 wards. What am I missing?! Is 19 kills and 18 assists too low? Is 33,795 damage taken too high?

It's pretty obvious. You basically can't die more than 1 or 2 times to get an S as far as I've seen.

You don't have a rank so the comparison it makes is a bit off

it depends entirely on the champion. An S rank means you performed in the top 10% of all players of that champion for that match, so champions who are played more often or at a higher skill level have harder to get S ranks.

In this case its probably your deaths that did it since its pretty easy as Malz to avoid dying
