I feel like Taric is unappreciated in lower Elo.

I'm p low silver and whenever I play support I LOVE to play Taric. He's so resourceful. But whenever I ask, " hey team, what support do you want?" and give the choices for what I feel like playing atm, no one picks Taric. It's always Lux or "you got Thresh"

I can do so many saves for my team and esp early game ADC that just goes a little unappreciated. Yeah, support goes like that sometimes but I feel like Taric gets hit by it a little too hard. I know he isn't as good as a good morg stun or nicely timed spellshield, but he's balanced pretty well imo. I'm proud of him :D

That being said, how do high Elo people feel about him?

In lower elo lots of people play soloque(or in normal draft) meaning lack of cooperation and synergy(which taric requires)

He's not underrated at all; he's just mediocre in the current meta.

His abilities are definitely useful, it's just that it takes a while for him to get rolling. His weak early is also definitely part of the undervalue-ing

People in low ELO just can't really use Taric's kit properly or work with it as a team. He's strong if played well, but you need a lot of team synergy or common sense (both of which are lacking in low ELO)

Taric is a very underrated support.

Taric is a good support, especially late game when he gets his items, but he needs a lot of finesse.

Not to mention he thrives off of cooperation, like what many here have said.

He was picked in pro games this year, so he definitely has great potential.

I'm not a high elo player, so I can't say how they feel about him.

However, I do appreciate Taric.

I think that most people don't really appreciate him as much because he is not a ranged support, and that typically means you will be on the receiving end of harassment. I understand that if he is played/built correctly this means you can withstand the harassment, but the trouble is, being unpopular, not many people really know how to play as or with him.

The way I really look at Taric's strength though is that he is not really as much of an ADC's support. He is capable enough during the laning phase, but once you switch over to the team fight phase it actually becomes more ideal for him to support the team's tank. His bonus resistances go well with the resistances that they already have, and are bolstered even more by applying a shield based on the target's maximum health. The amount of healing he does is not all that strong either. It is decent, but it is not as likely to save your ADC from being assassinated. Instead, the small amounts of health gives greater effective health on the tank.

By providing support to the tank, they are then able to engage and peel for the ADC better than Taric is able to.
