I feel like Taric is unappreciated in lower Elo.

I'm p low silver and whenever I play support I LOVE to play Taric. He's so resourceful. But whenever I ask, " hey team, what support do you want?" and give the choices for what I feel like playing atm, no one picks Taric. It's always Lux or "you got Thresh"

I can do so many saves for my team and esp early game ADC that just goes a little unappreciated. Yeah, support goes like that sometimes but I feel like Taric gets hit by it a little too hard. I know he isn't as good as a good morg stun or nicely timed spellshield, but he's balanced pretty well imo. I'm proud of him :D

That being said, how do high Elo people feel about him?

In lower elo lots of people play soloque(or in normal draft) meaning lack of cooperation and synergy(which taric requires)

I find that as a problem and it'super frustrating to the point where I have to kind of manipulate my team into maybe making some sense. I'm not amazing myself, but I try to put teamwork over being the hard carry. Why I play jungle, basically.

I somehow manage to get by as soloque support, it's hard, but after awhile you find a way to work around incompitent adc's

I know when I'm doing something wrong and actively try to fix it, but it's beyond me how to get around some bad ADC's and still keep the mindset that I'm correcting all of my mistakes.

I'm not a high elo player, so I can't say how they feel about him.

However, I do appreciate Taric.

I think that most people don't really appreciate him as much because he is not a ranged support, and that typically means you will be on the receiving end of harassment. I understand that if he is played/built correctly this means you can withstand the harassment, but the trouble is, being unpopular, not many people really know how to play as or with him.

The way I really look at Taric's strength though is that he is not really as much of an ADC's support. He is capable enough during the laning phase, but once you switch over to the team fight phase it actually becomes more ideal for him to support the team's tank. His bonus resistances go well with the resistances that they already have, and are bolstered even more by applying a shield based on the target's maximum health. The amount of healing he does is not all that strong either. It is decent, but it is not as likely to save your ADC from being assassinated. Instead, the small amounts of health gives greater effective health on the tank.

By providing support to the tank, they are then able to engage and peel for the ADC better than Taric is able to.

See, I've been focusing on my ADC and them mid/ jungler (who can sometimes be tank.) Next time I play Taric I'll try to do this instead. And as for early game, I don't mind that he isn't ranged (I should work on getting in more autos on the enemy without overextending) and I feel totally feel comfortable with it. But it's different for everybody. ^^

His abilities are definitely useful, it's just that it takes a while for him to get rolling. His weak early is also definitely part of the undervalue-ing

Late game Taric makes you feel like a god.

And I don't think it's TOO weak as long as a land my stuns. But I can definitely see where you're coming from.

After you land a stun, it feels awful to walk up, aa twice, AND get to safety without taking too much damage in return

It's not as bad if your adc has a decent followup, I feel like it's worth a damage you take if you come out positive.

any of the AP supports will destroy him, even soraka will dominate the lane.

as odd as it sounds he always was and still is a late game support.

give him enough mana and 40% cdr and he is godlike

People in low ELO just can't really use Taric's kit properly or work with it as a team. He's strong if played well, but you need a lot of team synergy or common sense (both of which are lacking in low ELO)

Hmm, that makes sense. I hadn't thought of that. I play Taric, but I find him sort of un-fun. Maybe if I tried with a friend?

Honestly, just keep playing him and practicing. No champ is really all that fun if you can't perform with it.

But, my best tip: Don't hesitate. Commit to what you do, and don't sit around wondering if you should ult or shield or anything -- just go with what your gut tells you.
