People are just stupid, not toxic.
This guy hit the nail on the head.
This guy hit the nail on the head.
So im already in about 20mins, i think he knows its a problem, but his reasoning behind it is just awful. For one he is complaining about what an Article stated about the Toxic behavior as if it came from Riot themselves when if anything its the people who wrote the article to blame. Then his scenario about how using the mute button is like someone calling your house and just hanging up is wrong. if anything it would be like someone continuously calling your home all the time. One thing i find hilarious though is that he claims that CS has never had toxic people. i remember going to internet cafes back in middle and high school and seeing actual fights break out over CS games, even verbally in game. Almost every single game especially online games has some form of toxic behavior whether this person wants to believe it or not!
Guess you didn't see the video. First hes not using the article as his point of ref, its the quotes coming on it from Lyte (who works at riot btw, and is the guy in charge of getting people banned pretty much). I think the point he's trying to make with the phone call thing is that, just because someone is flaming and calling other people names they don't like, the person on the receiving end doesn't have to sit there reading it as if there is no mute button. And the whole thing about the word toxic being thrown out to the point of it having lost its meaning must have flown right by your head. Sure there is mean behavior in any competitive video game, as that is the nature of competition, but for Lyte to flat out lie and say that only 2% of the leagues community is toxic is so obviously a fucking lie i feel was the point he was making with the cs thing, where "bad words" are taken with a more adult approach, which is, not giving a fuck a about it.
oh dont get me wrong. he does have a lot of good points, but it seems to me (now at the 41min mark) that its because he cannot use certain words because he could get him banned. dont get me wrong like i said he brings some awesome points. especially with reporting people and mainly the tribunal/chat restriction. i just think he is going about it the wrong way, or only seeing the negative of it which is wrong. Ill admit i havent been chat restriction (mainly because i am not toxic) so i cannot say from experience, but from what i am seeing from post on here, streamers, and players in my own games, its not working and it needs a lot of work. but again i think he is just going about it the wrong way!
An hour? Can we have a tldr please?
seriously....just leave it play in the background and play a normal game on mute or something. This guy gets it.
I made it 20 minutes in before I gave up. He had some pretty basic thoughts, but he never went beyond anything I hadn't looked up/thought myself. Honestly, I disagree with him that toxic shouldn't apply to a variety of situations, and he never really gave any reason for why he thought that. At the 20 minute mark he was just rambling, and I figured I'd be better off listening to music instead.
He goes on to talk about how Riot gave out statics that Player Behavior has gotten better even though the tribunal was down for 9 months.
And then remember when riot came out and said that only "2% of all game contain negativity"? Complete lie. Seriously that is saying that when you play 100 games, only 2 of them had negative players in it. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROFL WHAT??!?!? 2%????? Even if they said 20% I would have laughed. I would bet that 75% of my games have some form of negativity.
Why not both?
