Being placed in a higher ELO

Hey guys, my name is PigBike, i am unranked and S5 was my first ever season playing league of legends. i love playing the game, but ever since i reached lvl 30 my games have been crazy inconstant. You might be thinking "oh youre on tilt", but i have done so much research on it . and i know when to stop playing and when i can start again . ( after 4 loses i take a 2 hour break). but about 10 games after i reached lvl 30 i started going on massive win streak im talking like 9+ games, but then i go on tilt and i take a break. but recently my games have not at all been smooth, i'm just playing a game lose it and lose a couple more. its come to the point where i think to myself "what are the other players in the game like". and i realise that they are all low gold players. That might not seem like a very high elo but keep in mind i have only played 1 promo game and lost that. maybe it is because i have a high MR rating, but you would think that riot would drop me down after only winning 4/20 games. Its come to the point where i get scared playing bloody normal games cause i lose so much, i play my comfort picks like Ahri and Rammus but i still cant win. and believe me i do not flame at my team mates! so someone plz help me

Don't play to win; play to improve at the game. You'll start winning more as you improve, but more importantly, individual wins and losses will affect you less. Of course you should try to win (that's what improving is), but if that's your only goal (as oppose to improving or good ol' having fun), you'll enjoy the game less, and, as you're experience, just have anxiety jumping into games.

Getting thrown in with shinier people than you feel you are is a great learning experience. You might get your butt kicked, but if you can learn even subconsciously how they did it, then you'll improve and be better able to avoid getting wrecked as hard next time. It can also provide insight how to play the champs they're using.

Eventually you might even find that you go even or even win versus shiny opponents, which can be a good feeling as you discover that even diamonds aren't unbeatable gods.

Lacking that, a loss streak will eventually pull you down to what might be a more comfortable MMR, but keep in mind that if the matchmaking is working perfectly then the 'ideal' MMR is one where you win 'only' 50% of your games, so if you've become accustomed to a win rate higher than that then it might be rough.

(Also, your normals MMR is separate from your ranked MMR, so your performance [or lack thereof] there hasn't influenced who you get matched versus in normals.)

Cheers dude, the reason i dont play ranked is because i have been losing a lot in normals, and i dont want to feed and ruin the game for other people in ranked. but youre right ill play a few more normals and learn more and more, when i think i can play at a basic yet better level i start ranked (which should be soon) thanks dude

For the longest time, I was in your position. I couldn't win, and when I did, it was because someone else carried like hell. I just could not win. What I ended up doing, unintentionally, was finding a friend who just happened to be high plat and ended up at D5 last season. I play with him sometimes and it's odd. I get shit on in most games I play with him. I'm talking utterly facerolled. However, after playing quite a bit with him in the preseason, I've gotten significantly better. I carry games consistently alone when I get my main role, and when I don't, I can hold lane well enough to allow someone else to carry. I personally think that the latter is the most important thing you can learn. Screw carrying games. It's great if you can, but it's so much better to be able to play any position and simply not feed like hell. That's what I learned from playing with my Diamond buddy. I most likely won't win lane, let alone carry, but I can get by well enough in any position except ADC to allow him to do so. Knowing when and when not to go ham is so incredibly helpful, also.

tl;dr Playing above your rank is a good thing as long as you can do it without tilting. Don't aim so much to carry games so early in your "career," but aim more to just not feed. That means more than just not giving kills. It means making sure they don't roam, or punishing them to hell by nuking their turret if you can't stop a roam.
