How to fix Quinn

Quinn I love Quinn. She's my favorite champion. I found that when I was in silver and gold I could use her strengths well and help my team succeed. I get pooped on in plat with her. I feel like a simple change to her vault would allow her the ability to make game changing plays during the late game even in higher level games.

Imagine if, when you vaulted onto an enemy with Quinn, you were able to choose your landing spot. So instead of the enemy easily knowing where you will land, and subsequently cc'ing you, you would be able to outplay the enemy by say, vaulting behind them. This would also help her ability to reposition in team fights. Her low range already makes it nearly impossible to get a safe adc position in teamfights, this would help immensely.

Sure, Quinn's damage on the vault proc would have to be reduced a bit. But as a Quinn main, I would gladly give up the damage in order to have a vault that truly allows me to outplay another player, instead of trying to out trade them.

Thoughts?

That's not "fixing" Quinn. That's giving her an unnecessary new mechanic that doesn't address her problems. Quinn's kit is pretty solid, and being able to choose to go would be kind of wild, especially if there were no limits to what directions she could go in. I could perhaps understand letting her choose an area in a small-ish cone backwards to prevent the problem of enemies predicting her landing, but then again that predictability could be seen as the drawback to using the spell, and should be something you take into account when you use it. But moving forward or 90 degrees to the side is just unreasonable - its not really physically possible if you think about the ability, and it would take away emphasis from the fact that Quinn's mobility comes from simple movement speed.

I have always been of the opinion that Quinn really shouldn't get any changes until her AA animations, which are terrible, are brought up to the standards set by other ADCs. This is a very noticeable problem both in lane and in teamfight and fixing these would increase her kiting and orbwalking ability, indirectly helping that teamfighting positioning problem that you complain about.

I like the idea of a cone of a bout 90 degrees from the direction the you started the vault. Anybody knows that all you have to do is cc quinn after her vault and she's dead. Giving her the freedom to atleast put herself in a better spot after the vault could give her the time she needs to avoid the cc.

so like kalistas stutter step? mid vault you can right click a spot within a ring that should appear on said vault begin, and anywhere clicked sends you that spot(or even where your mouse is located). else places you back where it normally would?

The idea is a great idea, as the ability to be closer or farther from the target is at your disposal.

However choice of where may be problematic, but the choice auto locks the max vault range at the exit vault but at your direction does seem appealing

Similar to that yes, Wherever the cursor is after Quinn actually performs the vault is where she would vault towards. I think the distance she vaults after contact should remain the same, however.
