Yorick support please?

Yorick's new kit is pretty awesome. However I'd like to see him have a little more versatility in roles. Are there any changes that could make him a more viable support?

He has a slow, and an "ensnare", support looks viable on the surface.

So far the biggest road block I see is that his q is very hard to prep in a 2v2 lane. you can't choose not to level this ability because it's his main source of harass. but it can't really be use to it's full potential without taking a bunch of cs from your adc (even with item 3302 )

possible solutions I can think of include increasing the passive spawning of graves, omiting the need to last hit a minion (e.g. your q gives a stack of 'pall of death' and if minion dies with the stack a grave forms), or lowering the necessary number of graves to 2. I understand you'd need to balance this with a complementary nerf, but it would be well worth it in my book if it gave him greater versatility.

I was actually thinking of something similar with full tank or AP Yorick.

Without at least a little AD last hitting with his Q is ... i don't want to say hard, but misleading???

I was thinking that ideally, you will last hit with this and get a grave 100%. In most cases that is the goal after all. Failing to last hit really doesn't accomplish much of anything, aside from a large chunk of damage to the minion, gaining some health back, and most likely losing that cs/gold, and opportunity for a grave.

My idea was that landing a Q on a target (or maybe exclusively minions) without killing it would subtract 1 from his passive count. The death of the minion would then count for another -1. This would not automatically net a grave, as it would if you succeeded the last hit, but it would help to gain graves more rapidly otherwise.

From a support perspective, you could ... um, .. "first hit?" a minion to chunk of decent amount of damage, sustain, and a stack, then your ADC could then last hit them for the gold, and an additional stack. Once you reach 0 stacks, the next enemy minion that dies becomes a grave.

p.s.

I really don't see this effecting AD Yorick at all because he most likely doesn't give two shits about his passive. He will be throwing Q's left and right, stacking grave after grave.

Supporick: shoes, eye of equinox, banner, zz'rot, iceborn, situational. Not in that exact order but my word does it get the job done.

Most champions aren't designed to be in more than 1 or 2 roles, putting strength in an area that makes him better for support and worse in his intended role is just going to ruin him because he'll still be bad at support and then mediocre in everything else.
