Twisted Fate help

I have been playing Twisted Fate for a couple weeks now. Through this time, I still have yet to figure out how to use his gate ability. Is there a key I press? I have yet to find a video that tells me how to use this ability and it's kind of annoying.

press R. press R again.

you press r, and then you click somewhere on the mini map or on the battlefield. When you mouse over your ult you will see the range in which you can ulti on the mini map.
